However, a large part has to do with the fact that I'm not that interested in getting to know every level of hockey. I focus on the NHL, the CHL, and NCAA where I can, but rarely do I care much for the European leagues. So why invest that extra effort into finding guys when:
a) Their long-term value is volatile
b) Patience is required
c) Effort, time, and reference-checking is required
d) The pool is generally considered to be thin

Not worth it to me. I'm generally very careful with my assets - moreso since I've entered the league.

You say this because you started out with a good franchise. If you started out with DET/PHI last year, you'd have to use the waiver draft as it is a place where an edge can be gained.

I wasn't here for the waiver draft last year. And Miele and Lindstrom ( until he proves his worth) don't have a spot on my 23 man roster.
