[OTT/BUF]
Re: [OTT/BUF]
Confirmed, I just don't care too much for the waiver draft.
Re: [OTT/BUF]
that's silly... do a lil homework and you get something worthwhile. Or don't I guess, should follow my own Rule 1.
Re: [OTT/BUF]
Is there really anyone worthwhile? I never really considered the waiver draft... gave away my picks.

Re: [OTT/BUF]
There are some steals. I think especially for teams with little to no assets, it's a great way to add something valuable because of how undervalued waiver picks are. A GM who has done that is Lee. Last year too I believe.Cuntacular Chris wroteCOLONNo.Mike wroteCOLONIs there really anyone worthwhile? I never really considered the waiver draft... gave away my picks.
Re: [OTT/BUF]
If you're careful not to bleed your own assets, you can forgo the waiver draft. There's so much turnover in the league that assets generally get distributed equally. And outside of Jagr, Miele, and LIndstrom, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who sees any short-term value in waiver priority picks.SuperMario wroteCOLONThere are some steals. I'm a fan of the system, but not a fan of the effort required.

Re: [OTT/BUF]
The problem is that teams like DET need the waiver draft. Last year, Lee's team was so terrible, it had like 2-3 moveable assets. He used the waiver draft as an advantage. Teams in such poor shape should do the same. It's a loophole in the value system of BBKL that allows those teams to gain some footing.Cuntacular Chris wroteCOLONIf you're careful not to bleed your own assets, you can forgo the waiver draft. I'm in two baseball keepers, one baseball year-to-year semi-keeper, and one other hockey keeper. I barely pay attention to most of them, and for a good reason - I'm loaded in assets for each league, and I'm careful not to invest in someone I don't believe in. However, a large part has to do with the fact that I'm not that interested in getting to know every level of hockey. I focus on the NHL, the CHL, and NCAA where I can, but rarely do I care much for the European leagues. So why invest that extra effort into finding guys when:
a) Their long-term value is volatile
b) Patience is required
c) Effort, time, and reference-checking is required
d) The pool is generally considered to be thin
Not worth it to me. I'm generally very careful with my assets - moreso since I've entered the league.

Re: [OTT/BUF]
You say this because you started out with a good franchise. If you started out with DET/PHI last year, you'd have to use the waiver draft as it is a place where an edge can be gained.Cuntacular Chris wroteCOLONThat's part of the problem.SuperMario wroteCOLONThe problem is that teams like DET need the waiver draft. I wasn't here for the waiver draft last year. And Miele and Lindstrom ( until he proves his worth) don't have a spot on my 23 man roster.SuperMario wroteCOLONThe problem is that teams like DET need the waiver draft.
