Re: Florida/Chicago
i needed D bad.
i see asham as an upgrade over burish and torres frankly.
skille was very undervalued here. babchuk put up good numbers his last nhl season and is all but confirmed to re-sign with car.

Chris, I dont think that is right. I think you STILL hold the right to get that 4th from Toronto if Babchuk doesn't sign. The clause was attached to a deal you had with Toronto. NOT with the player (babchuk). The clause doesn't move to the new owner of the player unless stated otherwise in the clause. That 4th is yours if Babchuk retires.Florida Chris wroteCOLON
I had the below deal with Tor Mike, and it now goes to Chicago

I highly doubt you'll see Babchuk back.

OK, well it wasn't even part of our talks, I forgot all about the clause I had with Mike until I went to go update my pick page, and saw it there, so when I was making out trade write up I just threw it in. I will go change our trade to say that I will give Chi a 4th is Babchuk dosn't sign......Which is exactly the same thing anyway.

I have like 9 or 10 NHL dmen. I'd be more than happy to make a deal lol.

and his last nhl season:RALEIGH -- It appears winger Ray Whitney and defenseman Anton Babchuk will be with the Carolina Hurricanes next season, general manager Jim Rutherford said Tuesday.
Babchuk, 26, has been something of a prodigal son for the Hurricanes' organization since coming to Carolina in a January 2006 trade with the Chicago Blackhawks. Refusing a qualifying offer from Carolina after the 2008-09 season, he spent this past season playing for Avangard Omsk in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
But the Hurricanes retained his rights, and Rutherford said he was very optimistic Babchuk is headed back to the NHL - for a second time.
"We want to sign him and bring him back," Rutherford said. "We are moving along in the process."
