Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
Hong there is no reason to give Jake 9 games, his contract is starting either way, and he's waiver exempt.
They'll let his play determine his TOI and the such.

Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
I don't know where to put this, but I just wanted to say that Doughty's signing on the night before roster submission makes Mr. Cliff one lucky bastard.
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
he had plans in place...
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
Avery on waivers
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
This is my sad face :[ - I half-expected it though. Just wanted his cap and potential to be claimed/traded later on.Kezia wroteCOLONAvery on waivers
Mikael Backlund broke a finger and is now shelved for six weeks. Morrison's knee is still bothering him. Likely to hear that Byron will be called up.

Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
I can't help but laugh: Schenn to Philadelphia... Phantoms.
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
The good news is that I'll be absolutely awful this year. The bad news is that Schenn will likely be up within a couple of weeks or so.
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
I know everyone is loving Shanny as the new head of player safety aka discipline, however to say it's now consistent or obvious is drinking the special punch IMO.
This is reckless targeting the head, a 'pick' of the head:

But this is not?

And this is the exact same circumstance as the first example, but not suspension worthy?

- Guy being hit isn't an NHLer and doesn't throw his arms up... he's also not a Red Wing.
Almost as bad, I have no clue how this is a suspension, Colborne with the puck head down, and I see him move right before the hit, which I think Boyes tried for full body contact

As Shook pointed out...Malone didn't get suspended, his BF is the GM of that club, Long time GM Holland obvious ties. I actually like/accept the explanation of the Malone non-suspension. It's not that campoli was bent over as the excuse for non-suspension, it's that he bent over JUST before the hit, AFTER malone had lined up for it.
I appreciate the videos, but the calls still don't feel consistent to me.

Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
Wow, give Lombardi credit for this one:
He'll be up the 2nd game most likely. That's one hell of a contract.by playing just 1 game in the AHL, Schenn's cap hit drops from over $3 mil to $1.75. He still earns $900,000 in salary and $850,000 in bonus
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
Also Nick, I agree the inconsistency is worrying. But I don't think it's fair to accuse Shanahan of having something to lose by punishing players under the stead of his friend's teams.
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
Is not a unique contract.
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
Oh? Please feel free to show other contracts with that particular bonus in it.Nick wroteCOLONIs not a unique contract.
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
please open the CBA and read the qualifications for Type A and B bonuses for ELC's. If you do not have a copy i can email you one.
If we know the clause, they we know when they've hit or missed a bonus.

Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
I do have the link to the CBA. What I don't think you understand is the immensity of that particular bonus and how unimportant it was for Schenn to sign off on that. Perhaps our minds work differently, but I suspect you might be thinking one dimensionally again.Nick wroteCOLONplease open the CBA and read the qualifications for Type A and B bonuses for ELC's. Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
LOL.
Do you believe that Brayden Schenn was the only player (on ELC in particular) who has had a large portion of his potential bonuses based on achieving X over 82 games?

Do you believe that most prospects sign off a bonus that requires them to play all 82 games + 25 minutes per game?Nick wroteCOLONLOL.

Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
Sorry, did i say 'most' anywhere?
If i recall correctly (and no a search did not yield me with the links), one of bozak's bonuses on his ELC required him to play top 6 forward TOI .
However, no single bonus can be worth 1.4M, since you have a copy, please open it and read the amounts the bonuses are allowed to be.
