I would have jumped on Kessel for Hall straight in your position. I'm being a dumbass right now trying to rebuild for 2-3 years down the road. You want to win. But you want to hold Hall & your great pieces and try to acquire other Team's top pieces without giving up as much value. That gets old quick. And why you wouldn't want Kessel instead of Hall to win this year is beyond me.

Agreed, and not to harp on Taylor Hall because he is a great talent, but he wasn`t even the best player taken in 2010, Tyler Seguin and Cam Fowler were (IMO of course).

For me, it`s:

1. Tyler Seguin (over ppg this season, with exceptional two way play, and minimal pp time)
2. Cam Fowler (hall of fame type good)
3. Taylor Hall (not a good enough shoot to be a truly elite goal scorer, which places him behind seguin and fowler imo)
4. Jeff Skinner (has done the most to date on paper, but on the ice, the above three are a clear class ahead)
5. Brandon Gormley (yeah, I think he`s going to be that good...)

That is a convienient argument...Kessel`s pre NHL hype and production don`t have much influence on the current product, nor do the last 30 games (in the NHL) in which Kessel leads the entire NHL in scoring because Kessel is streaky.

You are reffering to Seidel, correct? FWIW, he isn`t the only one, Kessel`s skill-set is widely recognized among the scouting community. There were a significant portion who would have taken Kessel over Crosby if given the opportunity in 2005.

Don't be an idiot...The entire scouting community was split on who the better player was, and those that preffered Crosby didn't by alot. It's no fault of the scouts, Kessel is that fucking talented. His issues are in regards to his: fitness, effort level, and attitude.
