NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
Glaridi to centre, duchene up on stastny's LW, guess duchene needs to be top 6, but he's not playing as well as RoR or stastny.
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries

Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
Some Leafs practice notes:
- Finally got to see Steckel in action. Jesus Christ is he a good skater.
- Franson has an amazing wrist shot for a defenseman.
- For all the flak that Connolly gets for being injury prone and such, he spent the most time stretching out.
- Kulemin's ability to get the puck from feet to stick to net is ridiculous. He can do it in less than a second. He's up there with some of the best in the game in this particular aspect of puck & feet control.
- Connolly pulled off a sweet fake wrister pass by pulling puck to heel of stick and forcing puck to drop backwards between his legs to Kessel during one of the drills.
- Schenn stayed after practice to work on his outlet game - his passes were accurate, but Orr was having difficulty corralling them. Not sure if it was Orr's lack of ability, but Schenn was essentially "throwing" the puck rather than threading them crisply.
- Also watched Steckel, Grabovski, and Bozak take faceoffs. Of the three, Steckel was the clearly superior performer. Every drop and ensuing throwback was on the stick - the puck didn't roll. Bozak, about 4 times out of 5 did the same. Grabovski, 1 out of 5.

Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
This old school western shit that they had playing during the Tampa/Florida shootout is really fucking annoying.

Blues fire Payne hire Hitchcock.. Yes I mean the Blues.. not the blue jackets.
Re: NHL Transactions - Injuries and More Injuries
Jussi Jokinen out for a while but not as bad as originally thought:
Colby Armstrong, things aren't looking good:
Jussi Jokinen did not take part in the team session, but the fact that he was on the ice at all lends credence to a previous report that he could return to the ice earlier than the original 3-to-4 week estimate. The Hurricanes have not yet provided an official update on Jokinen's status, but it looks like he could be back in action sometime in mid-November rather than near the end of the month.
Colby Armstrong, things aren't looking good:
High ankle sprains are actually sprains of the ligament above the ankle that connects the tibia and fibula, the two bones in the lower leg. This diagnosis often comes if the ankle is not improving under the usual treatment regimen for ankle sprains. Recovery from these sprains can be longer than for usual sprains, depending on the severity. There is no specific word from the Leafs on Colby Armstrong's return to the lineup and he was nowhere to be seen at the practice arena on Tuesday.

Looks like Filatov will be sent down as well. Lebda signs a PTO with the CBJ farm club.

Hopefully Joe Colborne gets the call, he's been a MONSTER. Wouldn't mind seeing Nazem Kadri either.
