when a team is not performing, sometimes a guy has to take the fall, even when it's not entirely his fault. that's just the way it is, you can't continue on with the status quo when you continuously suck.
first it was JFJ
then it was maurice
then it was the muskoka 5
then it was the long serving leafs like stajan, ponikarovsky, antropov
then it was ron's assistant coaches
every person AROUND wilson has taken the fall at one time and the result? - some old shit.
no coach in the league should have survived through what the leafs did last november/december. it still baffles me that he came out of that with a job. it also leads me to believe that there is nothing he can do to get burke to can him, and as a leafs fan, that's incredibly frustrating.
you can argue that THIS PARTICULAR slump is not entirely wilson's fault, but someones needs to take the fall, and its HIS FUCKING TURN.

Re: Trade: NJD/CLB
I don't agree that Kessel is in one of his usual funks, he has been far and away the best player in each of the last three games (both teams) he is creating with his shot, and passes, but nothing is finding twine, partially because of luck, partially because of goaltending, and partially because teams are putting their best shutdown line and defence against him every shift. If this is how Kessel's slumps look, he will be a 100 point scorer at seasons end.

Yeah Kessel's not slumping. People sometimes associate a lack of Goals with slumping like the mass media. Kessel creates a lot of chances every game and has still been collecting assists.

this thread...how does it work?
