Are you kidding Scott? Wow you killed this deal IMO.
Grabner could easily be a 1-hit wonder, White has no role when Betts gets healthy...the only part I like from that you're giving up is Kukenhakl...

Re: CGY/NJD
You are insane Chuck...Grabner is far and away the best player in this deal, Backlund and Gilroy have shown nothing thus far in the NHL, with little reason to believe there is a sky high ceiling for them to aspire too. With regards to Betts, he is a center who pk's and wins draws, in no way does he displace a gritty winger who is responsible for creating an up tempo fore check, playing the body, and sticking up for his team mates. Same line, different role...
Re: CGY/NJD
I hate when people disregard Grabner because he's off to a slow start. The fact is he's a top PKer with the Isles, he has huge scoring potential, and he's probably the best skater in the NHL. Kareem's right and I agree with his post entirely. I'm taking a chance here.. Backlund's a kid I like and I think he'll be a solid player and Palmieri offers me a bright young talent as well. As for Gilroy, he's having a solid bounce back year. I really just think NYR killed his potential as they run a defensive system. Gilroy's getting decent PP time in Tbay and has been looking pretty good.
I think Josh did very well here.. I wanted him to but I wanted to be good with the deal too lol..

To his credit, have to say i appreciate the newcomer's move of giving to Scott a useless pick from the past
