Only three of the venues are at altitude, so that's not it.KapG wroteCOLONinferno31 wroteCOLONOkay, so I looked it up a bit and pretty much the ball is too light and wildly unpredictable..
Why would they do that? lol
Football confuses me in that for a sport with rules about so much that pitches and balls aren't regulated at all. (For those who don't know pitches vary in size, they only have to fit a varied range in size). Baseball varies stadiums too but still.
I believe the ball is performing differently at the altitude they are playing at here in Africa. Thats what I heard at least.
After reading your posts about some of you playing with the ball...maybe I am wrong lol.

Ok cool...
Didn't they play with this ball before hand though and there was nothing really negative to say? I am just surprised that all of this is just starting to come out into the open now...I am sure they knwe they would be using this ball for a long time before this tourney started...no?

Ya i agree those horns are a little much to be going constantly like that, maybe when a goal is scored or a good play was made they would blow the horns, but if your lucky enough to have an equilizer in your tv or hooked up to your stereo, there is a way go get rid of the horns and still here the commentary, this is what im hearing.

Kyle...Are you serious? Germany got screwed early on with a poor decision to red card Miroslav Klose in the 30th minute. Despite having only 10 men Germany still dominated Serbia and almost drew even, hardly something to be ashamed of...KapG wroteCOLONWOW germany just lost to serbia!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Germany, as one of the favorites, STILL needs to win that game though.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONKyle...Are you serious? Being down a man for that long is like taking 3 straight 5 on 3 penalties, it is incredibly hard to come back from, especially against a shut down team like Serbia. Trust me, they outplayed them down one for most of the game, with a level field they would have at least drawn.
Re: 2010 World Cup South Africa
USA got fucked, and England is playing horrible. Rooney looks hurt, Gerrard isn't effective in that position, Lampard is invisible. No Central Defenders now, carragher suspended, king and rio out. I'd consider a helluva lotta subs, and they are missing walcotts energy. This team is in shambles, and I have no idea why. One game left, win and your in. I hope they do it. At least the netherlands won today.

Re: 2010 World Cup South Africa
Rooney isn't hurt, he simply isn't getting the ball in areas where he can score, and that can be largely, if not entirely attributed to the central midfielders Gerrard and Lampard. Unfortunately for England both midfielders have different ideas of how to run the team, and it shows on the field. On paper the mid should be a strength, but in action the chemistry just isn't there, and all of England's troubles stem from that. On the bright side they have dominated possession in both games, and although they cant score they have limited the opposition to nothing (save for Green's mishap). I suspect they will get things together in time for the elimination rounds, they are too good a team not to.inferno31 wroteCOLONUSA got fucked, and England is playing horrible. Anything but a win against Slovenia and there won't be an elmination round. Carrick may start and Lamps may sit the next game. Rooney I've watched all year, his groin bothered him last game and he was hobbling a bit. He had to play deep just to get into the play, and does it when he knows the Mid can't get it to him. Even still his hustle and finish is lacking.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONRooney isn't hurt, he simply isn't getting the ball in areas where he can score, and that can be largely, if not entirely attributed to the central midfielders Gerrard and Lampard. I'm playing hooky this morning to watch the matches...if the Americans can't point in their game, then the other game is irrelevant but I'll be flipping between the two. I love the pundits talking about how Team USA trashing Egypt in the Confed Cup last year means they'll beat Algeria. There's a reason why Algeria is here and not Egypt. I'd anticipate a win today but I was thinking that last Friday as well. The biggest key is to not get off to a bad start like they have in the last two matches. They've been able to rally in both matches to earn ties but I'd like to see this team play with a lead for once.

*Holds tongue*
ANOTHER disallowed goal on a questionable call...a phantom offside call on what should've been a goal for Dempsey.

Re: 2010 World Cup South Africa
Halftime in both matches...England gets a goal from Defoe and if these results stand, the Three Lions and Slovenia move on and Team USA goes home. They have to win if England holds on to beat Slovenia. Slovenia moves on with a tie or a win so they have motivation to get at least one goal in the second half. Algeria can still sneak out of the group with a win and win or tie by Slovenia.
A fun site to use while watching these games...just plug in the score and they give you the updated standings. Plus, it gives you the brackets for the knockout stage.

WOW!
I'm rooting for a win from Germany so they win the group and Team USA can avoid them...maybe they face Serbia or Ghana in the round of 16. England finishes second and gets the Group D winner.

Egpyt is a superior team to Algeria, you don't know much about soccer if you debate that...For w.e reason though they cannot qualify for the W.C., yet they win every african cup, just one of those strange situations.Shoalzie wroteCOLONI'm playing hooky this morning to watch the matches...if the Americans can't point in their game, then the other game is irrelevant but I'll be flipping between the two. I was more or less shooting down how comparing a win over one northern African side would mean a sure win over another. Yeah, England has underachieved but the Algerians played a solid game against them in that previous game. The point that was hammered on a lot today was their lack of discipline and that painfully obvious...a lot of silly fouls. Their captain should've been tossed from the game earlier with that fist to Dempsey's face. He eventually went off with that second yellow late in the match when it was a formality at that point.
USA vs. Ghana on Saturday...winner takes on the winner of South Korea-Uruguay. That other ABCD bracket is much gnarlier with Argentina-Mexico and England-Germany. It's a decent road for the Americans to make it to the semifinals before having to face a major world power like Brazil, Spain, Italy or the Dutch.
