Yea that Marchand hit was a bit suspect. He does that alot. The ducking or clipping. You dont give the Canucks that many PP opportunities.

Bit suspect? You sound like a leaf fan defending Tucker on Peca. It's a dirt bag move. For a meaningless regular season game the canucks should have jumped the douchebag.

Not defending it one bit. It was a dirtbag move. Hence the reason i said he has done that more than once.

im not even that big a nucks hater and i understand why you wouldn't want your skilled guys getting involved in the scrums and shit, but its totally embarrassing how much the sedins shy away from anything the least bit confrontational.

i do not want those two on my team regardless of skill.

Well D. Sedin played a bit rough today ;) Canucks didn't shy away and made the Bruins pay for stupid penalties. They deserved the win.

Star reports a well placed source says 90% chance next winter classic is Wings and Leafs. Can't wait for next years 24/7. Hope its the Big House.

Illitch is pushin for it to be at Commerica from what I have read. Having it at Commerica would be a real shame. Since 100k+ at the Big House for a Leafs vs Detroit game would be one of the greatest things ever. EVER. Just don't get your hopes up.

Rather far away from the game at big house. 100K+ would be a nice #, but the experience of the game might be compromised. I've read/heard from quiet a few sources that it's a better situation for the fans at a baseball field (still 40-50k).

Ive read and heard it's the opposite when using in a baseball field. Reason being that in a baseball field there is actually more wasted space? Which makes sense considering the shape of a baseball field vs a football.

The big house would also be more beneficial to leaf fans as there would be more tickets available for purchase. imagine about 50k detroit fans vs 50k leaf fans? Unreal.

? Wasted space as in gap from fans/stands to the rink? If symmetrical on the football field compared to the offset it's not even 'ballpark'.

Iirc the baseball infield in 60' square... So although a portion of that is not used, the number of fans who have good viewing distance/angles is much much greater then at a football field - which is something like twice as wide as a hockey rink without sidelines, 120yards plus side lines is much longer then a rink as well. Dunno where you saw a comparison in wasted spaced, but Everything over read, and though about isn't even close.

Now - # of people is a big plus.
Easier to keep cold supposedly in football's favour
NCAA-states universities much easier to work with/shared benefits

Either option would be awesome. I'd love the leafs to be in the most attended hockey game in the history of the sport which requires bighouse!

Well, you've done more reading into it then I have :P.

I prefer big house, but even if it isn't, Leafs on 24/7 would be fun for all of us leafs fans.

Illitch owns the baseball stadium, I've read they are really pushing for the Big House. They've had a UMich and Mich St. Game there before from what I recall, the experience would be insane.

If it does come to pass that the next Winter Classic is between Detroit and Toronto, I'm not only going to go to the game, I'm going to stay there and hook up with all the sad female Detroit citizens who have suffered the indignity of losing to the 'pathetic Toronto Maple Leafs' (paraphrasing from a tweet I read this morning).

as a long time defenceman, there is no better feeling than laying a hit like that.

when you commit to it, then realize you have the angle perfect and the guy's reaching for the puck...money.
