Lol, i don't think he holds value in a league of 30 teams with 65 man rosters, i know he does. For anyone to think otherwise is actually quite foolish. Take your third round pick and use it and we'll see how many of you ever get a player who plays one game let alone regularly in the NHL. Some of you are nucking futs. The dream that you will draft a player that actually plays or contributes is pretty fucking slim to none. This mentality is like first year BBKL. Get with the times.

I'd give up a 3rd for Crabb for sure.

Dude, Crabb is an AHL player. Just because he might have decent statistics in the BBKL (I don't know, I haven't looked) doesn't mean he's going to continue doing so. He's at a risk of being sent down/waived. There's a reason why he never sticks -- he's a fringe NHL player at the most optimistic of projections. Just like Zach Hamill.

Thats ok, just some hillbilly English slang. I do not expect my Asian Brother to comprehend my slackish attempt at answering a question with a backasswards ansamaquestion. :D

Hamill is a bust. If Crabb is an AHL player, then he holds more value to me as a possible injury fill. Crazy that the Leafs have played this fringe AHL player so much last 2 years. Even after they have this allstar lineup. Wilson loves him. I guarantee he ain't going anywhere. Hes an older guy who finally got his chance and will work his ass off to stay up. Not many players give the effort he does night in and out. His skillset lacks, so he has too. What is a sufficient sample size for him to be a fulltime player?

I'm not sure how you can guarantee a fringe bottom 6 player will stay on a team that is openly trying to improve and add pieces up front, whilst developing the likes of: Matt Frattin, Joe Colborne and Nazem Kadri. Crabb is a fine player, and I'm sure the Leafs would like to hang onto him in a 13th forward capacity, but you are deluded if you think he will be a permanent roster fixture on this team.

I'd bet Crabb gets traded at the deadline and stays in the NHL.

Not a bad call at all.. he's good enough to be an NHL regular.. at least the Joey Crabb I've watched.

Very interesting option. For a 3rd/4th liner he makes some sick moves on occasion.

Yep, I think he's definitely an NHLer, just not really on a contender and because of the numbers will likely be pushed out of Toronto.

Do not disagree that TO is 2 or 3 pieces away from that next step and Crabb is one of the guys who would be pushed out to achieve that. Can Burke achieve that this year?

crabb, connolly, and bozak need to be upgraded before the leafs are ready to be really successful.

3rd line LW (crabb) - bigger body/physical presence needed
3rd line C (connolly) - someone who actually cares preferably - bump bozak down
1st line C (bozak) - bozak bumped to the 3rd and we need a playmaker with decent size on the 1st

still lots of work to be done imo and won't get done this deadline.

kypreos made a very rare good point the other night when he said while bozak does have chemistry with lupul and kessel, he's going to get eaten alive in the playoffs as a #1 C.

lupul - playmaker w/ size - kessel
macarthur - grabovski - kulemin
big body - bozak - armstrong
brown - steckel - lombardi

as unlikely/impossible as it would be, there would not be a better fit for this team than ryan getzlaf

I am quite confident that Getzlaf would fit in the middle of the majority of teams. Love to see him on the Bruins. Sell the farm....

I don't necessarily think Lupul and Kessel need a playmaking center, in fact I think they would benefit more from a defensive minded pivot with size, speed and the ability to bury the puck. Connolly didn't work very well on the top line, and Bozak is most successful when he is making plays defensively and burying the puck. Both Lupul and Kessel are underrated passers, they don't need others to create for them.

Think Crabb goon AHL guy is still giving great numbers for BBKL:

he is still 100% replaceable on the leafs roster.

Once guys like Frattin, kadri and Colborne start smashing on the door (which they are starting to do), there isn't going to be any room left for Crabb unless we can ship off someone like lombardi or armstrong.
