Rick Nash

Post by Chris »

Sure, his cap-hit is a disgusting 7.8M, and of course, the Columbus Blue Jackets are an awful team. Fact is, this is a former number one overall draft pick, who might be unfairly criticized for his seeming inability to produce on a crappy team. Power-forwards take a very long time to develop. Perhaps that quantum leap in development is coming soon for Nash.

There's a decent chance that, given the Blue Jackets recent admission that changes to the organization and on-ice product will be coming, Nash will be traded soon. This doesn't include the whispers from TSN and other CBJ sources that Nash wants out, but won't ask for a trade.

With that, he's on the block. He won't come cheap. Best offer I have gotten so far was a young NHL peripheral winger with some offensive potential, and two blue-chip prospects. I'd like to see what else is out there.

Game on.

Sending out feelers. Been approached by several GMs so far as well. Can't say anyone has made a weak offer. Might be on the move before roster lock!

Taking SHTOI again. Hitting, scoring, STPTS, etc. Nash appears to be back on track.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun

Absolutely fascinating to see how things have shifted in Columbus re: Rick Nash's potential availability...
@DarrenDreger
Harder we dig, the more info that is beginning to surface re: Nash availability.
@TSNBobMcKenzie
For the right team, CBJ's Rick Nash is indeed available for trade. Story on tsn.ca momentarily. #tsn #tradecentre

There are several people with intermittent interest in Nash, but only two with serious offers. I don't think I need to tell anyone that Nash out of Columbus might give your team -- or your rival -- a huge boost to your line-up.
