Karlsson

Post by Mash »

How sick is this kid? I just watched over the game that I recorded earlier tonight, he made the NASTIEST outlet pass to Michalek off the boards. The best part is that it's not a once a game kind of play from him, he constantly makes fantastic moves with the puck. His poise is amazing, well beyond his years. WHY THE FUCK IS HE A SEN!?

Off the boards on an angle from your own faceoff dot around a defender that is a stride and half behind your target, directly in the line of the pass....meh sounds pretty "medium" to me. haha.

I remember when he was being drafted and they moved up to snag up, just knew somehow I'm going to hate the sens for that move in a few years.

i still think this pass is being seriously over-rated, so yes i called it medium.

That's what I said! He accepted a nice pass, did require changing his path though, through the feet and slick finish... all the pass my ass (new hampshire)

I was more impressed that he does shit like that multiple times a night, on a regular game in and game out basis.

still some definite kinks to work out.

i wanted to check up on michalek so i checked out the first half of the game today (when karlsson did most of his damage) and for every slick pass or dangerous rush he created, it seemed like there was a mistake to match. giveaways behind the net, reverses to nobody, that sort of thing.

if he can shore that stuff up he will be a fuckin gun.

He is a risk taker, you don't make the kind of passes he does as often as he does without taking a ton of risks. This is especially true in a high tempo system like Ottawa were every play is made quickly, I think the biggest thing for Karlsson is just getting him a defense partner who can help cover up some of his mistakes.

Karlsson is super interesting to watch. I've recorded the last three or four sens games (small sample) but his confidence level with the puck is INSANE for his age. However, his age really shows without the puck. Looks out of place and often over-commits...which is night and day when compared to his skill WITH the puck.

Yeah dude, I have had my eyes on him since forever... I've called on two players to be BIG this year and they're Claude Giroux and Erik Karlsson. Karlsson has that extra edge to really excel above all the other D-men out there, and it is like all u guys mentioned... When he's on his game he essentially does nohing wrong. He is as innovative as Sidney at the back end.

I love how he always has the puck on his stick. So much poise and vision to go along with his incredible skill set. The Senators future would be looking a lot uglier if Karlsson didn't turn out to be such a dime.
