Yeah it will...A move doesn't need to solve all the problems to make sense, it just needs to make the team better and both of those players do that, but I have no faith it will get done, so meh.

we are in no position to give away a pile of prospects and high picks for 1 player. if nash is really going to cost assets like gardiner, kadri, colborne, frattin, 1st then you can count me the fuk out.

A good move is a good move regardless of position (assuming it helps in the short term and long term), that and I think you are severely exaggerating how bad the Leafs are. They have disappointed the last few weeks, but they are not a bottom 10 team...Adding Nash and/or Brown can only help, the cost is another debate, but I wouldn't hesitate to move a young prospect for Nash just because the Leafs are struggling...I'd only hesitate if I thought said prospect(s) were of more value than Rick Nash or Dustin Brown alone.

i disagree, i think this team is that bad. past our 9-3-1 start our record is that of a bottom 10 team. 20-23-6 since then.

with ~20 games left, and no signs of life whatsoever, we could easily find us in the top 8 picks, especially if burke decides to sell.

Self selecting important stats can be taken for evidence of anything; if your remove our 2-7-1 last 10 we're top 14: 27-19-6.

It's a slump Anton, and just like scoring streaks come and go, so do losing streaks. Not worried about the Australia Bandwagon though :) there will be room when you jump back on -> even if you're out in the Outback or deep in some Thai 'jungle'.

I think this team has a good core, but one too many players who play the same way. Adding someone like Rick Nash who fits in speed wise, and brings size, down low play and net drive will only improve the team moving forward.

The Leafs won't finish bottom 8, you're naive or really upset (understandably) if you think that...

20-23-6 is not a slump. it's sucking.

You're removing a weird # of games to start..to make the strongest argument you can. As the saying goes, never as good as you are when you're winning, never as bad as you are when you're losing; We're probably somewhere between the start and the slump.
ignoring first 13 where we were awesome = 20-23-6
remove last 12 (2-8-2) which IMO is a slump = 18-15-4

the point is the leafs have sucked for the vast majority of this season. there has been significantly more bad than good.

It should come as no surprised that this team has struggled, they have no size up front and unstable goaltending. Fix those two areas alone and you will see a vast improvement in this team, mark my words.

We've won more games then we've lost, and have lost games we deserved to win. Dunno what you consider majority (29>26), but IMO we've struggled since ASB, I still hope we'll find our game before too long (a goalie in specific), and I promise we'll still make room on the wagon for negative Nancy's.

actually we have 29 wins and 33 losses.

why do you ignore OTL?

because they are a Tie.... 4 OTL is like winning 2 and losing 2. 2-0-2 is like winning 3 losing 1... gross sum of points is the first determinant of playoff seeding, dunno why you'd ignore that.

nick, that's not true. you said we've won more games than we lost. there is no way you can argue thats true.

How is that not true? We've won 29 and lost 26 -> I'm not calling a Tie and Win, but you're trying to call it a Loss.

Moreover this is not a wins and loss league; if you're looking at it that way, then you're missing some seriously important details.

FLA has 12 Ties -> we'd be in front of them if our league ignored this detail.
OTT & WPG both have more Ties then us (would be 6 and 1 back with games in hand), the playoff picture in both conferences would change.

I know we didn't win those games, but you're incorrect (given NHL points system) that we lost them.

Remove 13 games from start but add emphasis on last 12, call a Tie a Loss; Please, be a little more pessimistic.

it IS a loss.

You do not win the game. You lose the game.

lol 2 losses does not make a win. we lost the game. we were the losers. we didn't win. an otl is a loss, not a tie.

it's ridiculous to claim we've won more than we've lost.
