Retro TV rebuild.

Post by Mash »

So I was doing a TV installation today (side job for fast cash) and I came across this MINT condition old Sears Brand TV that this old lady was replacing. It is 20 years old! haha So I took it out of her house and installed her new TV. When I got this TV home I couldn't believe how amazing the condition of it was. SO.

I took it all apart, and am adding a 32" Samsung LED D6500, Two Bose Cinemate speakers and am going to mount a Samsung D630 Smart Blueray player. cutting out the a spot in the back for the tray to open and close.

Here is some pics of the old TV i gutted. the back looks retro too, its not in the pic because I already took it off and moved it aside so it doesnt get wrecked! haha.

One day, we're all going to go to jail because Mash decided to build a nuclear bomb in his basement.

Heh this is awesome mash. Love putting new stuff in old stuff. That sounded strange.

Last month a buddy and I built an HTPC in a NES. Fun times!

yeah man, I love restoring old stuff, and pimping out old electronics with new technology. It's awesome. I do it every time I have the opportunity. I usually sell it when i'm done because although its fun and looks awesome I prefer the modern look for my own stuff :p haha

That sounds akin to Courage hunting... just saying.

And as I'm clearly tech-retarded, I prefer to put new mechanical stuff in old cars; so I guess I can understand the interest.
