TFP Editor David Pagnotta reported late last night via Twitter that the Blue Jackets are shopping Filatov.

Filatov, 20, started last season with the Blue Jackets, tallying two goals in 13 games, but then left for the KHL, registering nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points in 26 games with CSKA Moscow.

The Moscow native has expressed his desire to return to the Blue Jackets and play in the NHL next season.

The Columbus Dispatch reported early this morning the Blue Jackets have been speaking with the Vancouver Canucks about defenseman Kevin Bieksa, and suggests Filatov could be part of a trade.

Also I gotta say I love Bieksa, he is a great canuck and very easy to like. That being said, I think he is over rated to the rest of the league. I think people back east hold him in too high regard, it's like they dont watch him enough or something. He is a #3 defencemen imo so if trading him would get us player of filitov's level I am all for it. I'd hate to lose him but well I'd rather hamuis, ballard, ehrhoff and edler any day.

Also Berg instead of hating the leafs fans do what I do, sit back and enjoy the show! lol

Young fans dont even know why we hate the leafs anymore. Educated fans know why the hatred started. Your owners didnt want us in the league and vetoed us once as a matter of fact. So we were forced to hate someone that tried for years to keep us out of the league and also refused to share hockey night in canada with us for a while. Why alberta and saskatchewan hate you too I have no idea. The leafs were booed in saskatoon when it was announced that they won a game. So if you think its just nucks fans that hate you, you'd be wrong.

I believe that's simply not true, especially if your take the time to read through the details, I've heard people claim that, however I've never seen anyone who would know confirming it. On top of that, Boston & Toronto were the two pushing forces for league expansion (Smythe & Bing from news notes I've read, IIRC). Smythe was the idealist who wanted to double the size of the league within 5 seasons...you can find first hand quotes of him saying as much, not 2nd or 3rd hand accounts of his dislike for Vancouver (recounted years later).

There is widespread speculation that Habs & Leafs owners did not want to split the CBC revenues another way,however that simply lacks business under-standing; growing the game into more markets, expanding your business is the safest way to increase profit, It would hugely increase western presence. Also, why would Canuck fans simply hate the leafs for this reason? In regards to 67' Vancouver didn't have a rink, and failed to come up with even $12M let alone the recommended 20M that the other expansion teams put together; from vancouver's own website "Cyrus McLean and Foster Hewitt's bid did not stand much of a chance and was indeed rejected." ... so yea, the 6 owners + league commish stopped you from joining in 67'.

But the truth of the matter, as recent history also shows, is that the Canucks are the cry-babies of the NHL who push blame on someone else for their own short-comings: Unfair calls, Tampering, Tampering, Unfair division placement, unfair conference arrangement, unfair schedule, unfair road-trip, Campbell Doesn't want us to win, opinionated calls that they never drop, fake spin of the lottery wheel. Your team has been owned by a series of convicted criminals and failed business ventures, and the fans by the bs they shit out... ignoring the current group of course.

Read through the local bs and there is truth.... on top of that... 43 years ago, a 3 year wait that included the rink being built, money & team rights purchases coming together (they didn't own the Canucks, they had to buy them for 6M)... and there's no reason for anyone who's under 60 to even claim this as their reason. Currently its cool to hate the leafs; when that changes you'll see the media spin change as well.


Regarding Sask: Bry, I was there too, there were cheers as well... if 1/4 the building was booing, another 1/5 was cheering... no other fan base extends that far from its home region; and Sask has political reasons to dislike the majority that both the east & west represent, though the entire country benefits from its size and diversity its also easier to hate someone you don't know or see: once you look past the differences, you see people really are like you.

also to say we complain about division placement is full retard. It is done geographically and any fan with even half a brain knows that. We complain about travel not who is in our division. Also more so we complain when we hear others complain about there 3 games in 4 nights and the travels that they had. Although he did announce we won and then someone said no it was them, if that isnt a conspiracers dream then I dont know what is...we havent walked on the moon ya know. As for the reffs every single fan complains about that, why you hear more is that you live in bc go out east and its the exact same. Also about canada being a like that is totally wrong. I work with people from all over canada and people can't believe that I am from BC. They say and I quote "you are no where near stuck up enough to be from bc! you have to be from pei". I get that by every east coaster that comes out and works with me. Every province has its reputations and yes sterio types but there is always some truth behind sterio types. Alberta has a reputation for being assholes BC snobs and Ontario/Quebec arrogant. Then there is sask which is the nicest single province imo. beats the east coast even. We are a very different country province to province and I have no idea how that comment was even relivant

Regardless, provided enough resources to show that the veto didn't happen and doesn't exist, that has been a constant theory of cities w/o teams (that Toronto owns a veto card, it's been said multiple times that no such veto has ever or currently exists).

Why hate of Leafs & not Habs? teams have played much more historically (both in the east conference back in the day).

Check past your more recent claim/compliant, you were originally in the East, and then complained about which American teams you were matched with, etc, complained when Chicago moved into your division. Every team has lots to deal with, # of border crossings, # times of traveling through the night, total # of KM covered, total # of flights, lack of flow to season, # of back to back games, # of times where your the start of a road trip, # of times end of road-trip, etc... every coach will say what they can for their team, but rarely does the media focus on it nearly this much. And now they have a Heart trophy winner and are barely making a fuss about it !!! insanity !!!!

I moved out here with limited feelings towards the Canucks, even tried liking & cheering for the local team (which I do 100%; dumb not to for the sake of fun), I'd wager the common leaf fan has no feeling at all towards the Canucks, simply not true the other way around, at least by the comments. Perhaps in TO which I have no experience with, but in the north/west there was little feelings, even some interested fans.

I'm from an all-canuck fan family, have heard it all, but I remember early my cousin's hating on the leafs (trail/fruitville/castlegar people, family of WHA & WHL players), lone leaf fan aside from my mom who "feels sorry me".

My grandpa more then anyone had a seemingly unfounded hate for the blue & white, though much of it seemed to be from only team to watch & beef with former players back in the day.

Way OT, I clearly don't hate the Canucks, remove 1 (Burrows) player and I actually like the team and I don't deny how good they are or kick them when they are down (and they have had lows), never seen so much rubbing it in then what is currently happening to the leafs (and past 3 years).
