He's ranked as highly as is is because he is a complete player, NHL ready, NHL size.

He's not Ekblad though. His upside is top pairing. He isn't all that distinguishable from other defense prospects in this draft other than he has the highest floor amongst the top defenders in the draft.

Trading a 21 year old who is already a top 20 dman in bbkl for that pick seems odd. Trade something for something that could possibly be that something one day, maybe. I guess to each their own.

Hanifin has the potential to be far better that any of the players I am asking for. That's the difference.

+1

Everyone wanna sell "potential" when it's to their benefit but then when the roles are reversed they wanna their cake and eat it too

Every single person does that, let's not pretend it's just when selling potential. Everyone wants to maximize their assets. You just got greedy after asking for something then asking for more. I'm cool with Lindholm, Fowler, Trouba, Marner, Hanifin or Stome. Either way, I'll get 2 of them. Maybe only one *ahem McDavid*

Your god damned right I'm cheap. Loosened the purse strings a bit on Duchene and Dubinsky now everyone wants me to be Santa Clause. Been a lot of penny pinching and declined deals because people push their asking price to far. I'm as guilty as anyone, I ask for a lot. Generally the offer I send out is the one I am willing to accept. I'll give a little if I really want the player, you asked for a 2nd, I offered one to get the deal done and then you asked for more. When you start asking for Cornel and Meszaros or my 2nd + Meszaros + my waiver pick on top of that pick, it's greed.

If we are going to elaborate, I offered you BOS 2nd 2016 when you included it in the list of adds. You said no, I want a 2015 pick. So I offered up Pitts 2nd 2015. Then you asked for those packages above.

No, he doesn't. He has the "potential" to be "as good" as some of the players you are asking for. Go ahead and draft Hanifin and tell us all in 3 years how much better he is than Lindholm, Trouba, etc lol!

If you were offering both on top of the 3rd pick that might be a bit more reasonable. Neither are likely to be top 50 picks, so lets not pretend like you are doing him a favor by adding a late 2nd round pick.

Are we going to compare him to 25 year old players or their 21/22 year old selfs? Because right now he is barely 18 years old.

And again, you are not the type of person I am offering him to, you have nothing I want for him. Sorry if I hurt your feelings with that remark.

Ah right, I forgot that he didn't ask for it and that they have no value.

I gave you a list of players and names, picks and u went on ur whole I'm not interested in the back and forth. So I threw out a couple of deals so don't act like I was greedy Mr I have no interest in discussing a deal. I can't read your mind. You want ur cake and eat it too. Plain and simple. Drew Stafford is the fucking man but you wanna buy shit on the cheap cheap Oh God Mez with a late 2nd the be all to end all Dman thank u for proving my point lololololololololol

There are no hurt feelings here when I knew I didn't have what you are looking for you egomaniac lol! Compare them to their 21/22 year old selves. If in 3 years he is "significantly" better than those other guys I will be right here to tell you how great you are for having predicted that.

A late 2nd? Not much at all. If one late 2nd is all he asked for on top of the 3rd pick, then shame on him. Neither of those picks are likely to result in a regular NHL player, so no the value is not that great.

I'm really not interested in spending hours and days negotiating deals. I think Nick and I knocked out Duchene in 3 minutes 5 minutes before the trade deadline.

Do you know why? Exactly what is going on with you. People get their feelings hurt and take everything personally.

Hard to argue with the stats that Stafford is putting up. He could have helped a lot of teams for a very reasonable price. A young borderline NHL dman.

As far as Mesz goes, he's having a shit year and I bought him on the cheap for GP while hoping he would sign cheap and I could flip him for something like a 2nd sometime this off season or the deadline. I purchased him to make a profit, not as a throw away in a deal.
