You inherited a top team in the West you would have had to have been a really bad GM to turn that into a losing team.CasperX22 wroteCOLONAnother winning week. Sigh.

Re: [GDT] Week 6
Top 7 teams in the west separated by a total of 23 wins. It's super tight. Of course LAK leading the pack.

Steve doesn't exactly rebuild, he's just winning with younger players. Plus, the Rangers goaltending has been crazy good.

Your team just keeps rolling along.
I should take comfort in what you're doing since your forward group has similarities to mine...the centers are leading the way with your wingers are providing modest numbers. The biggest difference between your team and mine is the fact you're getting a lot of production from your defense and obviously Dubnyk has been stellar. Nylander and Wennberg are ahead of schedule in terms of their play. Both are playing well right now.
The formula to winning in this league is having a solid group at center...most top teams have at least 3, have a few wingers that score and some that hit and kill penalties, have a deep defense with strong periphs and get quality goaltending. You need to have a team where if your offense goes south for a week, you can still win the periphs and your goaltending can still dominate. If your offense comes alive, then you're almost unbeatable.
Re: [GDT] Week 6
Yea thats what I have more or less been trying to build. Periphs are the key. They are consistent. You get the right guys you can always count on it to be there. I think ive put together a side that can be counted on to be in upper portion of non-offense categories. My swings are my scoring and goaltending. If they hit its a big win. If not a more controlled loss.Shoalzie wroteCOLONMatthew wroteCOLONTop 7 teams in the west separated by a total of 23 wins. It's super tight. Of course LAK leading the pack.

Goodness the metro went from being a solid division to a pile of hot garbage... Looks like only the top 3 will be getting into the playoffs - will be interesting to see if any of us can make up the ground on Lee.

some good matchups last week.

Gotcha Tony
Re: [GDT] Week 6
Thanks. It was certainly unexpected and gives me hope for the future. I definitely thought I was going to finish bottom 3 this year. But goalies being 25% of categories can change a team big time. With richardson and oduya going down to injury, I'll be losing fow blocks and shtoi automatically this week, and I now have 4 spots in my lineup not getting gp, so I expect to begin my slide down the standings.Shoalzie wroteCOLONMatthew wroteCOLONTop 7 teams in the west separated by a total of 23 wins.
