and why the hell should a team be punished for loading talent?
might as well do this a 30 men roster league then.. which i would have never joined in the first place!
I didn't say protect only 30...that's extreme. However, there are a lot of guys that would be exempt from the draft if we were dealing with the NHL waiver draft rules.
If we have rosters getting up towards 70...I'd say protect 55-60. I'm not talking about leaving star players/prospects exposed. I'm basically suggesting we just expose a list of players and we don't necessarily need to drop them outright.

Because no one posts in the thread. I'm not combing through every single trade looking for picks. You're more than welcome to help out with the editing.

with the way we built our league it doesn't make sense anyway.
what would be the point in using all our draft picks if when you get too many decent players you're gonna lose some of them anyway..
Knowing something like this would happen, one would have built a short Shiv-like team..

Yeah, it would inflate the hell out of entry draft picks, too. I'd profit, both from having a small team (34 players) and a lot of picks.

If you go by the NHL waiver draft format...prospects and rookies are protected. It would make more veteran players available but we'd also be able to draft college and European free agents.
Look, I'm not in the CC anymore...I'm just trying throw out some ideas. I don't have any pull with making decisions. If you don't like the idea, I'm fine with that. I wouldn't want to see the waiver draft die a slow death before we explore other options.

oh, for that matter, i would be AGAINST taking away the Waiver draft as well.

2 Rounds of the waiver draft should be more than enough IMO.

For the GMs that are loaded enough, full, stupid, or lazy just pass on your selections. Not hard to find 3 players potentially worth having on your roster. Also when we stop people from FA claiming earlier this year, next years waiver draft will be more interesting.
We have some nice deep rosters Kyuss, and that topic is beat to death; I've see you tell other people to move on from a finished discussion, please do the same. We have a stepped plan in place leading to a VERY high cap of total players.

Ugghh... I'd have to look it up, IIRC Jan 1st players onwards are held for the next waiver draft.

Yep, and so you should be rewarded, but I think you agree, we also need to be aware of holding value for the waiver draft. I
