man nick, you just have a hate on for franson, he's not horrible defensively at all. He certainly has the odd bad game, and i woudln't even call this one of them. Few mistakes but he was solid on both ends.

i think his defensive stick is embarrassing, he's inconsistently physical and constantly in bad position/misses his man in our zone - i have a hate on for him from watching him. His # are fine, he's a big guy with an offensive game from the back end, I think he is capable of good D but not committed enough to do it. Fraser is a good model for him to mimic, as he has much more skill and physical ability than Mark, just needs to want to play good Defensive D.

man, you and i see a different player. I think he plays a smart game, for example, instead of pitching in and chasing a puck (tonight) he dropped back to ensure he didn't get caught out of position. He's really showing a mature game, day in, and day out.

Still I have played some good teams...islanders, your team, bergs. Playing ottawa this week and still have BOS Kyle to face.

There are also only a few teams that i have poor records against in the standings breakdown. Those being Boston...LA and toronto. Then a couple teams where im losing but its still close. you. jersey. Columbus I think.

I don't think he is terrible defensively either, it's definitely not a strong suit but I don't agree with Nick that he is consistently out of position. He has been strong in his own zone for the most part, the mistakes have been few and far in between, IMO. That said, Franson is playing primarily against the oppositions second and third lines, so take that FWIW.
