That's true lately, but I think we could have Hasek in his prime and we would still be losing this one. Nothing to do with the goalie San Jose is just a better team and we are on a back to back and not playing well. Hope the LA game goes better, but we will likely need another 40+ save performance from Bernier. Very happy we play in the East where no team completely out classes the Leafs.

This game looks bad now but it was lost in the 1st. Reims was very shakey and gave up too many bad rebounds. 2 of the 4 goals he should have had also.

I've backed him till now but it seems like every time Carlyle gives him a start now, he is unable to step up. We'd be better off with a back-up who is okay with being a backup than a backup who has his confidence shaken because he thinks he's a starter but has no confidence.

The thing is we need him too. Playoffs won't be a walk in the park for Bernier, neither will this stretch drive. Can't have a situation where you can't go to your back-up on a back-to-back.

reimer is not a bad goalie, but his style accentuates our teams' biggest weaknesses.

i think he's still capable of being a starting goalie in the NHL but on a different team.

we are already so chaotic and dysfunctional in our end and having reimer simply knock down pucks and kick out sporadic rebounds just makes it even worse.

reimer is a battler - moreso than bernier. he'll make huge saves when it seems no longer possible but this team needs a positionally sound guy who swallows up shots and can control the play and pace - reimer is not that goalie. bernier is.

also, our wingers stay way too fucking low in the d-zone. we are NEVER able to chip pucks out. opposing point men just have a field day with this team - so much goddamn room and no pressure when trying to keep pucks in.

seems like the only way we manage to exit our own zone is by reversing it 4 times and hoping the last guy has enough room to skate it out.
