Larkin is an absolutely elite prospect. Could count on one hand the number of forward prospects I would take over him in the BBKL. Long term I like Larkin more than Barkov for BBKL production, but theres obviously a price to pay when one guy is in the NHL and another isn't.

IMO NJD take a RW. The best they have is Connor Chatham.

I think positional need only comes into play when prospects are viewed as entirely equal, otherwise .. man just take the best damn player. Not like you can't trade later on

Yeah that's what I'm saying. Rantanen is in the mix for BPA and he is of a positional need for the Devils. He's a no brainer.

Ratanen at this stage is not very different from Barkov on draft day. Mayhaps a little more of a goal scorer instead of a passer, but a lot of that is transition to the NHL.

Was it something close to that offer? Cuz that is nuts. Is Barkov worth more than 2 good prospects? 35 points and little to no periphs. Larkin and a top 12 pick could easily each out produce Barkov. Maybe he is worth a bit more, but not even in the realm of the asking price above. I'd imagine that package could get almost any player in this league. I'd have thrown Patrick Kane + when kane was leading the league in points at mik if he had made that offer to me.

No, it was not. Drkness sent him a list of players that he would have interest in and Mik is using hyperbole to prove some kind of point. Mik's actual offer is actually kind of laughable.
