No one is stopping anyone from auctioning off a player, but you trade one player and you will lose another so it doesn't benefit a lot of teams.

He Scott, any idea why Zach Trotman is waiver draft eligible? He doesn't meet thr 40/70 criteria

Being 40/70 doesn't make a difference as to whether you are eligible. It's just the criteria that at least 2 forwards and 1 defence an of your expansion eligible pieces must fulfill.
The criteria for being expansion eligible is just a couple seasons of pro (ahl/nhl) hockey. Trotman has a few seasons in the ahl.

okay, but he is marked as having 40/70. Does that mean I can use him as a 2/1?

That way the seller cant complain and can take the deal or leave it. Take the deal meaning u assume u will lose the player outright thru expansion and u will take whatever u can get
Leaving the deal meaning u wud rather take nothing and risk losing the player outright or wish on luck that tim doesnt select ur guy
I like Pauls idea. Gives a little bit of power to the sellers in another wise lose lose situation.
haha

basically this.. if i used a 7th round pick to get that player that i have to protect, that means im exposing another of my player on my team.. which i don't see why i am doing it..
of coz.. the only, and only, winner of this is paul coz he has like no players worth protecting.

Oic. Yeah. That must be a mistake, given he doesn't have 40/70. Scott better clarify.

It's probably from the number of pro years he's racked up.
The 40/70 thing is there so everyone knows that they need to expose at two forwards and a defenseman that meet that requirement. I don't think anyone is going to have problem doing that.
I've got some bookkeeping to get caught up on this weekend...lottery is on Saturday. I want to make sure you guys aren't exposing players that you don't have to expose. I want to also give Tim the most accurate information.

I just posted the '16-17 and '15-16 skater stats. I'm working on integrating the GP from those sheets to give you guys the proper 40/70 designations on your expansion sheets.
I'm going start a database reshuffling after the expansion draft. I've been working on next season's sheet off and on and I want to get that into your possession around the start of NHL free agency (early July).

We've previously discussed this and we aren't acknowledging injured players as being exempt. But let's be honest...why would Tim waste a pick on a guy who will probably never play again? Safe to assume those guys won't be picked anyway.

I want the 7 - 3 - 1 option. How do I select that
