Put down the weed Paul. Petry is an underrated D, and likely an upgrade on Franson (who isn't?). But Gardiner... C'mon man!kimmer wroteCOLONLol petry is worth more than franson Gardiner combined hes their best dman
Do people really believe this team is bad enough to draft McDavid, or even that it is the plan? Nonis and Carlyle's jobs depend on this team being competitive. But more than anything, why would you even want the Leafs to tank? We went through that shit in 2008 and 2009, and not only was it not fun, but it did not turn this franchise around. Making smart decisions irrespective of draft position is the way to go.The BBKL Insider wroteCOLONYa. Just fire randy or keep him and tank for mcdavid
It's remarkable that Lowe, McTavish and Co. still have job's, isn't it?Arian The Insider wroteCOLONthe oilers look awful and i agree with sending draisaitl down as well. that team is a mess and has not improved after 3 1st overall picks. there's a serious need for quality veterans.. especially on defence. i have a feeling that hall will end up asking for a trade in the future and their rebuild will continue for a long time. they need to fire their whole front office as well as eakins IMO. such a mess.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONI'm curious to get your guys opinion on Edmonton, and what, if anything you think they can do to salvage the team. I'd personally demote Nurse and Draisatl ASAP to get them away from this mess, and look into multiple forward for defense trades. I often despise trading youth for veterans unless you are on the cusp of breaking out, but if the Oilers don't bring in more veterans that can actually play they risk shattering the confidence of the players they hope to develop.
One might argue we went through all the pain of a tank without actually experiencing the joy of it.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONDo people really believe this team is bad enough to draft McDavid, or even that it is the plan? That is what rebuilding is... There are no guarantees of a top pick at the end of it, and even if you get one there is no guarantee that said player will be a difference maker. Just look at Edmonton and Florida, you can't tank harder than those two organizations have, and yet they still have nothing to show for it.KapG wroteCOLONOne might argue we went through all the pain of a tank without actually experiencing the joy of it.
It is what it is though.
I'm not at that point myself, I look at this group and see so many positives, the same was not true between 2006-2009. I can certainly understand how some may be disillusioned though. The BBKL Insider wroteCOLONTo be honest I just dont care anymore. I dont sit on the edge of my seat in close games. Id find it easier to get excited if they had fired randy. I always thought marc crawford would be a good fit with this group.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONI'm not at that point myself, I look at this group and see so many positives, the same was not true between 2006-2009. Certainly management decisions have made it easy to be disillusioned with the direction of the team, but it's at least comforting to remember that luck plays such a big part in the outcome of hockey games that there is still hope for something good to happen. It's not good long-term team management, but it really is true that if you make the playoffs, who knows what can happen in that small of a sample.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONI'm not at that point myself, I look at this group and see so many positives, the same was not true between 2006-2009. lol it really is. lowe is awful and has been there far too long. there isn't a sadder team in the nhl than the oilers really.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONIt's remarkable that Lowe, McTavish and Co. still have job's, isn't it?Arian The Insider wroteCOLONthe oilers look awful and i agree with sending draisaitl down as well. that team is a mess and has not improved after 3 1st overall picks. there's a serious need for quality veterans.. especially on defence. i have a feeling that hall will end up asking for a trade in the future and their rebuild will continue for a long time. they need to fire their whole front office as well as eakins IMO. such a mess.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONI'm curious to get your guys opinion on Edmonton, and what, if anything you think they can do to salvage the team. I'd be happy only getting Jack Eichel.Bruyns wroteCOLONThe new lottery odds give the last place team only a 1 in 5 chance at McDavid. Tanking isn't as advantageous with only a 20% chance at #1.
