It will pay him $7.425 million per season starting in 2015-16 and makes him the second-highest paid NHL goalie behind Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers.
"We believe he's only going to improve," Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said here after the deal was announced. "It's ultimately up to the player to prove that he's worth the contract that he gets. That's the way we operate, we operate on giving them the futures, and that's [why] we evaluate these players every day, but we believe with his hard work and dedication he's going to be one of the top goalies in this league for a long time."
told you he wouldn't leave btw

I'll take Crawford at $6M x 6yrs any day.

And told you Darling buried in the minors if you want to play "told you's".

I was fine adding, for that matter. It's just you said you wouldn't take the risk of him signing in Russia anyway.

it's not like I said it wouldn't happen, and I actually told you I was perfectly fine with it. It only takes one injury or trade for him not to be buried anymore, and I am not in a hurry.

Since then, Russia economy has crashed meaning KHL sucks even worse than before for players. Not quite a relevant quote anymore.

I just wanted to pull to a bigger "told you so". calling Bobber re-signing isn't that great compared to calling Darling buried. All media reports at the time were hinting of Darling as the new CHI back-up. I gave you logical reason why he would be sent down, and sure enough: Darling buried.
