I do the same thing. Player names linked to their NHL.com profile or for prospects linked to HF profile, I also have their cap hits linked to cap geek. My spreadsheet is linked and formula'd to the tits. I spent a lot of time on it this offseason.Lee wroteCOLONWould there be any issues linking to a player page, as I have it in my spreadsheet? (IE, click a player name and it takes you to their Elite Prospects page )

Newbury will go on waivers at noon. I'm still waiting on the other rosters to be official for their players to be waived. I'd have to imagine they'd have to go on by Tuesday.

Sorry for the late submission Scott, I didn't have time to do it any sooner because of work.

It happens. The submission stuff is Mike's baby...the waiver wire and draft pick are my duties.

Hey Mike, can you walk me through the process of completing a trade on the new spreadsheet? I need to remove Khokhlachev, Backlund and Reinhart and add Gagner. Should I clear those players rows and add a new spot for Gagner at the bottom?

Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
Go in and manually delete the data from Columns A-G and then add in Gagner's info to any empty slot and assigned him a role. If you like a clean sheet with no gaps then copy/paste the data from A-G accordingly. Dont touch any other columns other than those or else you fuck up the sheet!Lee wroteCOLONHey Mike, can you walk me through the process of completing a trade on the new spreadsheet? Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
Chuck's advice is pretty sound. I like to sort by 5 criteria (and every time I update the template your teams will be sorted by this) which is, by priority:
Position: C - W - D - G
Waiver eligibility: Yes, No
Cap hit: High - low
DOB: old - young
GP: high - low
I do this by copy + pasting the data into excel (since google won't let you sort with that specificity).

Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
Awesome, thanks guys. Would you mind checking my sheet to make sure I have it set up properly in terms of making sure Vokoun is on IR and Gagner is LTIR with proper replacements ( Booth and Zatkoff) ?
Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
DId you trade for Booth just recently? Only players who are not already on your roster can be used as LTIR replacements. That means recent acquisitions be it through trade or waiver pickup or promotion from minors.
Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
Really ? Has it always been like that? Mr Bruins has Mikael Samuelsson listed as an LTIR replacement. Also, define recent. I traded for him on July 17th.Mike wroteCOLONDId you trade for Booth just recently? Only players who are not already on your roster can be used as LTIR replacements. Re Mr. Bruin/samuelsson: I told him the same thing.
Recency: we do not have a specific date for off season, though going back to July 17th would certainly violate the spirit of the rule. I suggest a common sense approach would be to say anyone acquired between roster submission and week 1 submission would be eligible.
Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
By the same token, Matt Irwin, Victor Bartley, or Markstrom shouldn't be able to be used as replacements, no?
Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
They all waiver exempt? If so yep.
Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
Also if you want to make 4 people replacements for one you can do that, I didn't build that in nicely to the spreadsheet because the sheet would get rather long. Just put the 4th as REL4 and it'll look like he's replacing nobody, but his salary will get discounted. Not pretty but it'll work.
Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
Ok, makes it a bit more understandable. I'll replace Booth with Huberdeau, and assume that I don't have to send Huberdeau to the minors once Gagner is back?
Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
Nope just need to remove him as a REL and count his salary.Lee wroteCOLONOk, makes it a bit more understandable. I'll replace Booth with Huberdeau, and assume that I don't have to send Huberdeau to the minors once Gagner is back?
Re: 2013/2014 Roster Submission [Wednesday, Sept 25]
Technically that's exactly what does happen though lee.
Player a is injured, placed on LTIR
Player X is waiver exempt, sent down to minors, called up as injury call up until player a is no longer injured.
Player a gets healthy, made active, player x gets sent down to minors , and than brought back up.
The moves are not an issue as player x is waiver exempt.
