Winnik was a machine.

The leafs wont win a game without him in their lineup now
One can only hope!

Phaneuf coming back will help us a bit though. I just hope he sucks/we keep shipping out people.

Don't worry, he definitely sucks. Worry, the leafs don't actually know how to rebuild.

Oh god, please.

Enough of the mediocrity. He's not a first line center.

probably should have waited to trade for him. Mckenzie believes the rangers, which would blow for me as he'd be their 3rd line C behind Stepan and Brassard

Steep price for Jagr IMO, but could help some of their youngsters.

Brad Treliving stated last night that CGY is heading into the right direction of keeping the young core + buy at a moderate price, but wasnt willing to involve 1st round pick for upgrade assets like LA did withi Sekera

Hes very smart and showed insight on how he wud like to run the team, almost a BBKL-esq type building strategy which I really liked hearing. A 2nd and 3rd next year isn't that steep for someone like Jagr probably to his standards. LL is no slouch in deal talks and he probably milked CGY til he got that kinda return for jagr which is impressive. This is an all-around good hockey deal

I just didn't consider Florida a buyer since they aren't holding down a playoff spot currently. Maybe the move gets them a in, but figured a 2nd and a 3rd could have been used on a player who will help them for a longer period of time.
