you guys had me want to play some draftkings.... but i don't bet
I got a message on BET365 that the Ontario rules are changing and I need to send them photo ID or my account will be scaled back apparently. Dont know much more beyond that though...KapG wroteCOLONSo I got some message from FanDuel stating no more dfs for ppl living in Ontario? They were citing some new government regulations. I asked draftkings if something similar is happening with them and they said no. Really hope that’s the case because that’s the only spot I play and I have a lot of crowns and a good size bankroll. It’s really the only gambling I enjoy too…
Anyone know what’s going on?
Yah I got that too. Got it all squared away tho. If DFS gets banned thst will really suck. It’s all I really do. I asked draftkings and they didn’t say anything about dfs getting canceled like it is on FanDuel. Wish everything wasn’t so hush hushArian The Insider wroteCOLONSports betting is legal in Ontario as of April 4th. Sportsbooks are prepping for that, hence Bet365 ID verification.
Heard some new regulations may threaten DFS but I don't know the details.
Draftkings is following suit, but perhaps not right away like FanDuel.KapG wroteCOLONYah looks like daily fantasy sports in Ontario are getting the shaft because of some igaming thing that’s starting up soon. I’m so fucking upset.
Thanks for the reply Shep. I was hoping you’d step in and provide your 2 cents. You’re a lot more involved in the scene. This is really deflating for me as I’ve been grinding micro stakes for iron man achievements the last couple years and have built up almost 200k crowns (not a lot for you I’m sure lol but lots for me!) and a bank roll thst is pretty substantial for me as well. Now all of a sudden this is all essentially going to be worthless unless they eventually being back DFS or let me use it on the sportsbook (I don’t like that kind of gambling tho unfortunately). It stings even more when you see it’s ONLY Ontario where the users are getting the shaft. Really hope they can come to some sort of agreement. My understanding is something along the lines of with how the regulations are, for DraftKings and Fanduel they basically had to decide between their sportsbook/casino or their DFS and their sportsbook is going to make them way more money. So they picked that.
Also something like Ontario wanting to get too much of the pie from these for DK and FD to run both, so they had to choose one.
I've gotten all my information third and fourth hand, but it's something like that.
I believe smaller DFS sites like Yahoo, Underdog, etc. will still run because they don't have sportsbooks (that I know of) that they would pick over DFS. But I could be wrong.
