The BBKL Insider wroteCOLONit's a very interesting study. I can see the success rate in the bbkl being around 50%. I've also put a group of people together who i think would wait the 10 mins and a group of people together who i dont think would/could wait and would thus answer the phone. My list wasn't judgemental either (as in i didn't base it on how much i like or dislike someone)
I don't think 50% of BBKL are idiots or pschopaths haha. It's pretty simple everyone don't be stupid and you get 4X the prize for ruining it for everyone else.
that's a simple theory for most people, but so many people wouldn't be able to justify that to themselves. And when i say 50% fail rate in the bbkl, that doesn't mean i think 50% would pick up the phone. I think there's a group of 5 or 6 guys that would - because of the reasons nick listed). But the chances of at least 1 of those guys being in each study (1/10 people) would be at least 50% of the time.
If you think that there are 6 people in bbkl who would press it, and you knew that 10 of 30 of us could get chosen, then the fail rate would be a lot higher than 50 percent. The thing is, depending on how many people you believe would takke the 2500, eventually it pays you to press it if that number gets high enough, because of the percentages.

Datsyuk is not expected to miss any more than 2-4 weeks of the regular season.

Everyone knows they should wait yet some find justifications and excuses to pick it up. Costing yourself $7500 and the greater group $10k each. There is no getting around that logic. Anything else is the incorrect choice.

Lose money and having 9 people break even or win money and have 9 other people win as well. Would have to be an idiot to pick up the phone if that's essentially what it comes down to. Why lose money to ruin someone's opportunity when you can win money and let others win too. Even being selfish you don't pick up the phone lol.

This is straight logic. But as nick suggested we have a lot of idiots living amongst us. It only takes 1 person to be retarded enough to pick up the phone.

word "paranoia" comes to mind when it comes to actually contemplating picking up the phone. thats all that is required to cause the loose chain link

Bettmen seemed pretty discouraged that only 2 cities filed for an expansion team.

They sent out applications to 16 teams, of course he's not happy. Those were the only 2 that felt they could guarantee an arena.

It would have been nice if one of the 3 Seattle camps could have completed a bid. I was really looking forward to a team there.

As per Cody Franson this morning:

"i've received many calls and told everyone my asking price, it can't be as bad as people think because no one has laughed at me yet"

what a nob lol

he also went on to say that he doesnt plan on moving off his asking price.

I think he is looking for term after a few 1 year deals. I imagine alot of the teams in discussions are at or above cap and need to make moves to accommodate his asking price. I know he is in discussions with Boston but i doubt they can fit him.

The thing with Cody, is that you really have no idea what he's looking for. It's been reported that he wants 6 x 6 when UFA opened, that's probably not too far from the truth as he's still on the market.

Is he worth that much? I am not too familiar with his play.

no, he's not

he's unconsistant. He has flashes of top pairing play then goes into slides where he looks like a bottom pairing guy or #7 dman.

He's going to have a really hard time getting a long term deal. He may be a guy that has to sign a new contract yearly, as he isn't the type of player any team would want a long-term commitment too.

The non-refundable $2,000,000 probably scared off some prospective owners that were considering applying.

it probably backfired yeah.. also not sure about how perspective owners felt about that reported asking fee to get eventually in lol

He wants 5mil. I don't blame him for wanting to sign longer term. 1 year deals are annoying for players when it is not their choice.
