Does anyone have any opinions to what they feel is the better route? For me it's probably the chl as it speeds up your developing by about a year. However playing against men in the ncaa certainly has it's benefits as well.

There's no one correct way to get to the NHL...top talent is going to find its way no matter what. The player is the ultimate factor.

I prefer a couple years in the NCAA for him. The schedule is shorter which will allow him to spend more time training to become bigger and stronger. Playing against older (and I assume bigger) guys in the NCAA will help him get used to playing against more physically mature guys in the pro game, IMO.

the competition in the NCAA better resembles the NHL. bracco is never going to be big - he might as well get used to playing against adults with 5 inches and 50 lbs on him now. while he may have more immediate success playing in the CHL, i think it would make the transition to pro more drastic.
with all that said, he's probably headed to the AHL for a season or two anyway where he can transition to the pro game so really, either option is good.

If you're going to play as a small guy in the NCAA, Boston College has been known for their smaller skilled forwards...Gaudreau, Gionta, Gerbe comes to mind.

Is cap trouble coming for Hong as well?
Stepan resigns for 6.5mil AAV over 6 years.
That's 12.6mil between 2 players in less than a week for Hong. (Holtby + Stepan)

I was 17 mil over the cap with the roster i wanted to use. People bitch about cap clearing moves but there are not many teams in the is league with tons of cap space and that are looking to make "hockey
" deals.

4.3 in space for this season. Going to be tough to keep my roster together once some raises kick in next year.

Thats where i am this year. Tough decisions. Not easy to shed over 10 mil and still be a top team.
