Pretty big contract for Savard IMO. No doubt he was good last year but he is still pretty unproven in my books to get that kind of term on those dollars.

Going rate of first pairing defensive (yes he's first pairing) guys who does no offence (schenn/orpik/macdonald) already has been 5-5.5m so pretty sure this is more than reasonable lolol ur just a poisonously cheap dude

Very reasonable after last season and probably would have been more if they waited. Also happy he is still dirt cheap for me this year.

Just an idea, but if we have long term members quitting over the goalie system in the league, maybe this is something that should come up for CC discussion? Not sure if this is why we think Tony is considering leaving but just a first impression....

Goalie system blows...lol. Trying to trade for backups is near impossible. Not sure how else it could work though, so its a tough dilemma.

It has been discussed, but there is no solution that can be agreed upon that people prefer to the status quo.

well, im to the point now that i am just going to roll with one goalie. not expecting to win. With Gustafsson getting pto in Boston and Bergy needing him to get his own backup from Foffnik who would aslo need a backup, it is near impossible to pull off a deal. Im basically gonna get cap compliant and put it on autopilot and hope for the best.

yes...... getting a whole system is nigh on impossible without paying a first for a bloody AHL backup.

Yea and people who have them know this and stockpile them because they know people want to complete systems and will overpay. Not that i wouldn't do the same thing or it is wrong, but in the big picture it really sucks. Not sure if there is a way to fix it......
