I don't know if lowering goalie GP actually improves things. Seems like another way for teams to tank. The problem with the goalie issue is there is no fair solution, if a change is made its going to benefit some and hurt others. I don't think there is any change that 30 GMs will support and agree on, thinking that there is a magical solution to solve GMs wanting a lot for a goalie in a trade is naive IMO.kyuss wroteCOLONhey, it' not like I don't recognize the difference between BBKL and the NHL, in the past I've been more than once the one saying we should not be obsessed in having the same rules on all matters.Sensfanjosh wroteCOLON Just to address Mik's point about following the NHL....
The difference being a team can call up a player whenever required to fill a position, or sign a UFA etc, in our league we are not afforded that same capacity. In the NHL you also see players like Lack moved for picks and the same is not true in BBKL. At some point the fact that this isn't actually the NHL and that there are tangible differences in our ability to manage our teams needs to be acknowledged.
but when it comes to the weight of our G stats and the weight of G on NHL teams' performances in real life, I think that looks pretty similar and should stay that way.
The differences you pointed out should be addressed in different ways rather than reducing the % of G stats on our total number of stats.
And it's not like I didn't offer my two cents already on a possible change to improve things for this matter

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Is teams tanking really a larger problem than league parity though? In my opinion if bad teams throw a few matches its a lesser crime than the unsustainable market that's being established currently, and sure some might say that there are more competitive teams now than there have been in the past, but this league is still very top heavy and I think the parity we are seeing now is more due to the number of GMs that we've turned over in the past few years than a reflection of the league righting itself.

agree, in fact I was looking for an improvement, not for a magical solutionBruyns wroteCOLON The problem with the goalie issue is there is no fair solution, if a change is made its going to benefit some and hurt others. maybe just remove a punishment for games played being missed due to injury?
seems like it benefits everyone.

How do you simulate that? Add GP of whoever replaces them in lineup? The BBKL Insider wroteCOLONmaybe just remove a punishment for games played being missed due to injury?

Simple, if you have 2 goalies (2 backups, starter, etc...) and one goes down with an injury you're given a pass on games played.Fraser wroteCOLONHow do you simulate that? Especially if you're trying to compete. It's easy for the league to see if you're trying to tank or trying to compete.
Eliminating games played due to injury will lower the price of goalies. We all win (for those who care anyways).
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Lowers the price of shit goalies for sure. Im biased based on current situation. But I think its smart.

it's smart, it's broked down into situation by situation.
If a team is tanking on purpose then no slack is given, however, if you have tried to land a goalie(s) and prices are just insane then the CC can't say you didn't try.
And the CC will know the prices because Mik and Mike own half the leagues extra goalies. I haven't talked goalie situations with either but it sounds like Mike is reasonable and Mik isn't.
Either way, they'll know the asking price and the CC can access within.

That and they can submit the messages exchanged with other GM's to prove that A) they have tried, B) it would cripple them to acquire said Goalie
Seems reasonable to me

best situation yet. Covers goalie injuries.
IMO that's important as it's next to impossible to land your entire system anymore.

PTOs are starting to come out.
Blues invited Upshall to their camp a few days ago. Today Leafs invited Glencross, Coyotes invited Potter + Aulie and Panthers invited Booth.

Didn't realise Gormley's stock had fallen that far. But to be honest I haven't watched him since he was a Junior.
