He isn't behind a bunch of studs in Chicago. He moves to a team whose defence mostly all suck. It opens up the opportunity for him to put up stats closer to last year, which were really great. I don't care how good he actually plays in the NHL: I care about his BBKL stats.

For curiosity sake, who are you putting him in front of on the depth chart? He's basically falling into the same situation.

Pittsburgh has one of the leagues worst defences. Not remotely comparable to Chicago's.

nice trade for the Pens, salary wise they have some room after the Dupuis' sad retirement and they got a defenseman who struggles at playing defense for a guy that simply can not play hockey and sistematically kills his linemates' offense.

I didn't say Pittsburgh's defense wasn't shitty, by Daley is falling into Tue same situation. He is one of e least efficient defenders in the NHL and even it Pittsburgh he is buried. Too many defenders of similar skill set that do what he does better than him.

Quenneville loves riding 4 main D in the playoffs. With Daley not working out...who is their best option to replace Oduya? I don't see Scuderi playing the amount of minutes. Maybe now is when the Hawks depend on all 6 defensemen.

From the Pens side of things...Daley gives them a top 4. They've played guys out of typical roles. I think of that is based on injuries. Scuderi is far from his old shutdown form from their last cup run.

Daley did that on a bad team with no other defenders that also had two of the best offensive players in the league....I would have been on pace for 50 points playing top pairing and top pp time on that team, and might have even been comparable defensively.
