Seems like this promotion will cost these stores a lot of lost revenue. Don't know the rationale behind it.
Do you guys realize why they're doing this?...
The whole mass market situation of the video gaming world is slowly fading out - in terms of the fact that games simply cost too much money.
Back then, people were roped forcefully into shelling out $70-90 every new release of each game series year after year (sports/FPS/RPG what have you), and they simply can't sell enough. This has finally caught up with them. I remember the N64's WWF RAW was like 98 fucking dollars at wal-mart... I couldn't even dream of getting one.
Furthermore on the contrary, video gaming in early 2010's have gotten INSANELY popular, and more than ever in terms of the amount of player-base in many different platforms and genres. Particularly MOBA (Multiplayer online battle arena)-type genre as I just pointed out with pictures (DOTA2 from STEAM), and LoL (League of Legends) and also HoN (Heroes of Newerth) being some of the TOP grossing titles out there with over 32+ million player-base JUST in NORTH AMERICA. LOL
What's the reason? The 3 aforementioned games are actually ABSOLUTELY FREE TO PLAY! There is NO requirement to purchase ANYTHING to play the FULL version of these games, and they are one of the world's most popular genres out there now, with international tournaments being held for over millions of dollars of prize pool. The money they make off of these games all tie into DOWNLOADABLE CONTENTS... they make players WANT to succeed, and collect downloadable/purchaseable items and intangibles of the game that make them look and feel special and apart from other players. At first I scoffed and swore that I would NEVER give them a single cent to play this game, but it's an odd phenomenon, as I found myself playing DOTA 2 for close to 2.5 yrs and have spent close to $200 just on cool looking items/contents special to my esthetic preference.... and I atest to you, I am NOT the only one who's done this out of 30+ million players, and imagine how much money they're making off of this game without charging $60 for the base price of the game...I don't regret my choice one bit, as I enjoyed using every bit of that $200 over those years to make this game my own. These game designers really make cerebral efforts to make players WANT to create their own identify in their own game.
With all this said, in the near future, I foresee console games doing the same. Call of Duty or titles alike, can have PLETHORA of options and selections in your army gears/guns/customization factors that can be special to your own preference. If you don't have the time to unlock it or when it simply wont unlock, you can just buy them.

Dude, I'm a passionate gamer, you should all come to my house and watch me play DOTA 2... I get personal. I'll hook it up to my TV via HDMI for you while I play on my gaming laptop.

I also told her that there would be alot of negative fallout for Future Shop from this and she said she wouldn't be surprised if that happened. Just posting what I was told, and as I said she seemed to know what she was talking about and was aware of the promo.

Lame. Luckily I have Madden 25, which I was going to trade in for GTA V but didn't, so I can get 1 game. That's not bad.

Ill be awaiting your reply. Regardless of what happens, thanks for bringing this up. Still not a bad deal. I just only really have one new game, GTA V and I am not ready to trade that in yet.

What do I need to add to Dendi to get s4? Prospect? Pick?
