The CC should look into each team only meeting once per season, it would be nice to have some diversity.
When Nick put the schedule together he invited everyone to make comments/suggestions.
I have one now, not sure if it's possible as we try to follow the NHL's schedule as much as possible, but why dont we play as many teams as possible? so in a year i'll play 21 or 22 (depending on the reg season) different teams. it would be fun to cross back and forth to play some different teams, to see how we each match up.
and when do u and i play? i thought it was the last 3 weeks, it must be next week

I prefer variety too. Would rather play 22 different teams rather than the same team multiple times.

I don't think you guys realize how hard it is to make the schedule. Once a person makes it - even with the intention of not having duplicates - some duplicates will exist due to the uneven conferences. On top of that, it is sometimes easy to miss duplicates in the schedule due to human error of 21 weeks x 30 teams x 15 match-ups.
The only way to perfect it is with input. So when the guy, who makes the schedule by putting in time (hours likely), asks you to look over your team's schedule before the season starts, you give your input instead of being lazy (not sure if you were in the league back then Matt).
Complaining now is pretty ridiculous though.

Not complaining, just expressing I'd rather see other teams than play my conference/division more often. It's not like rivalries develop since the players aren't actually playing each other. It also makes strength of schedule less of a variable when you are seeing 22/29 teams each season.

Honestly... the LAK/MIN 3rd match-up was never raised to my attention, i would have found a way to fix that. I apologize for the mistake, it does suck for everyone.
the 2nd time they faced was a fact of being in the West, iirc you will have to play at least two teams , a 2nd time. However the 3rd is from Week 5, which could have been changed without impact much. Prime example of why I ask people to look at their own schedule.
Sometimes it's just annoying, like playing the team you do face two times, in a short (or no) gap -> which can be fixed by shuffling weeks, but it's than happening to someone else. I think this happened to Billy early in the season, and he did raise it, however in looking for fixes it just ended up changing who it happened to. IMO random in that case it better than a bias decision.
Once again, I apologize to Steve and Hong, easily the most effected as it inevitably brings down both of their season point totals. Most of the errors happened in the West.
Reminder: playoffs are conference based, first key was playing everyone in your conference (which is different east/west, meaning western teams have to face each other an extra time ) and than to have similar opponents as your division comparison, your lined up with similar out of conference opponents. No repetition were ideal, but priority went to having each conference play itself (necessary).
I think this meant in 21 weeks (our regular season) you should face 19 or 20 teams, something like 6 teams didn't fit in, and faced 18. I hope Steve/Hong didn't have another repeat.

Thanks for entering into CBS Mike. I was going to this morning, but your morning out east clearly begins before mine.

ya i'm not complaining, so no one should take this as an attack, i know doing the schedule is tough, a lot of work goes into it. I'm just saying i wouldn't mind playing a few more teams from different divisions..
nick is only following how the NHL does it, i'm just tossing out a personal opinion, and stating that i woudln't mind playing a few more teams next season.

i shouldn't have even brought it up, like always - you say something in the bbkl and half the league goes into full retard mode and thinks it's a personal attack.
tbh it doesn't matter anyways, it only counts when the playoffs start.

In nicks defense, I think this is the least amount of schedule complaining I have heard in any year. I think that is a good sign and probably means he did his best job ever.
The schedule this year and its design was to balance the schedule as much as possible. By playing everyone in your conf and only one division in the opposite conf things are as balance as they possibly could be. While this may hurt or help divisions from year to year, atlantics inflated numbers vs pacifics numbers becoming worse because of the great atlantic/weak pacific, it at least creates a closer balance inside each division. Last year, in a shortened season i faced 4 more top 10 teams then Steve, I chose to rebuild before the year started as I had zero chance to win the division and would also have a harsh playoff matchup. This schedule helps that.
My only complaint would be that the wests double games were against the opposite division. We only have 14 weeks so doubles are a must, I'd just rather have played ANA or LAK again over stl and col, more ramifications when playing division. Minor complaint though.
Like shiv said, suggest things to nick. Our current schedule format is based off of past years imput.

Holy... TBL with 5gp, PIT with 1.
If I still had Sid & Stammer I'd always be happy with 6gp combined... but... now the total is just 1.
