Paul has basically become Steve's "complete cycle" buddy. Whenever Steve has an issue, he just cycles players through Paul like a foreign exchange desk. Except Paul is the one always pays interest and is left poorer than what he started off with. It kind of reminds me when Scott used to use JCarton almost constantly. I sometimes wondered if JCarton and Scott were the same person. Obviously, Paul and Steve aren't but just reminded me of that
Anyways, I kept my comments restricted to the "+1" I posted earlier because I'm usually the one screaming rape when it happens. Wanted to see if the rest of the league would agree with me. This trade is a landslide win and I really don't know how Steve keeps thinking every trade of his with Paul is fair when everyone else unanimously disagrees. It's not even like opinion is split.
Paul doesn't shop Kadri - and I don't mean make one thread where it is obvious Steve will get Kadri back anyways. Look at how GMs like KapG, Arian, Luke etc. shop players. If there isn't a market for a player at present, they wait it out for months till the right opportunity does arise in the market.
If Paul was able to move Eberle + Santorelli in a future deal for more than or even = to Kadri + Pominville, then no one could sneeze at this. But he won't be able to. And that sucks for a team with an asset pool like Carolina if it keeps happening over and over and over again.

I told Paul this last night I originally thought he and Steve were trying to play a joke on me to think this trade was real.

both recent deals with Paul were offered by Paul.
Yak for Kadri i told him i'd do it but for him not to post, as it was bad for him. He posted anyways.
last night he offered this deal, i didn't even accept it and told him 'i'd have to think on it' because statistically i lose everything except hits, i take on more cap and get older. Paul literally wrote back and said "posting"
so im a tad confused how i'm filling these 'needs' when neither of those deals actually improved my current roster.

Not denying that Paul doesn't have a part to play in this. It takes two people to make a lopsided trade. But when it keeps happening with one gm over and over, either Paul should consult people more or shop his players properly. This is just bad GMing

No worries shiv, u are going to see why i make trades like this. This is no different than you making a 'bad' deal and ur trying to defend it endlessly. Theres a reason for making delas like this

I don't block anyone. If Paul wants to block me for honest criticism, which is well deserved here, then so be it.

When santorelli makes it as an injury replacement for team canada you'll see why this is a sick trade for paul

LOL. Lost in all of this is the fact that Santorelli has been terrible off late for the Canucks. Steve probably knows that though because he tracks stats like me and Santorelli was on the 3rd/4th line

Why is Paul adding a first to this? Your trades are ok but it always seems your adding the extra asset to to come out on the losing side.

it's for a payment of favour steve did for me earlier. Good GM relationships are built upon foundation of trust and risks

I do ok for myself trading and im always high.
Anyways. The difference between kadri and eberle i dont thinks that huge. Especially since kads is a high priority position.
Thats why i dont get the pominville and first for santorelli and 2nd.

No time pressure for Paul to do this trade, don't think he did well value wise nor did he make the team better.
I do not get it.
But hey, he's the GM of his club - and as long as he's not attempting to do damage to the league, he can build and manage his team as he sees fit, there are trades every week some or most GMs wouldn't do, this appears to be one of them.
