rink ownership has promised me a decent raise and the "director of rink operations" position when i finish school which is nice short term (and fall-back option) but im really hoping this kings internship leads to something down the road.Bruyns wroteCOLONSounds like a grind, but hard to feel sorry for you when we are freezing our asses off up here in Canada and you are involved with hockey and living in California. What's the plan after your done your masters?anton wroteCOLONon a more serious note, im fucking exhausted.
im trying to pull off managing the rink full-time, coaching my mites, interning with the kings, and finishing my MBA at the same time. i routinely pull 16 hour days - 10 hours at the rink in the morning and driving straight to STAPLES for home games for another 5-6. then trying to fit in a master's level course/work load on top of it.
it's getting to the point where i think it's effecting my health. im thrilled to get 5 hours of sleep a night.
also, time is going by so fucking fast. this past year has easily been the fastest of my life.
am i gonna make it bbkl?
Being involved with an NHL team in any capacity would be a sweet gig. When applying to schools in the past I considered going to Laurentian since they offered a Sports business administration program, but decided being that specialized would probably work against me since it would likely be extremely difficult to break into professional sports.anton wroteCOLONrink ownership has promised me a decent raise and the "director of rink operations" position when i finish school which is nice short term (and fall-back option) but im really hoping this kings internship leads to something down the road.Bruyns wroteCOLONSounds like a grind, but hard to feel sorry for you when we are freezing our asses off up here in Canada and you are involved with hockey and living in California. i do a bunch of things in fan development/community relations but mainly i help run the kings fan loyalty program. season ticket holders build up points for doing various things throughout the season and can redeem them for experiences (riding the zamboni, skating on the ice before the game, watching warmups from penalty box, other cool shit). i organize these experiences and then meet up with each fan/group on game night and take them through it.SuperMario wroteCOLONHi BBKL. I started my new job last week. I'm heading out the marketing at this cloud software company in Toronto. Things are crazy but I'm doing exactly what I want to be doing so I'm really excited.
Also, I'm super jealous of you Anton. Not sure exactly what you're doing for the Kings but that's a hockey fan's dream (especially if you get a ring).
Oh and I like this thread btw
