Yea gotta agree with Matthew here. With a rising cap, and the amount of teams that are taking semi-aggressive re-build phases, more-so than any real NHL team would ever take on. There will be always be a market for high paid high productive players.

Edit: If they are not old.

I don't think Anton was saying they have no market and are unwanted. He was saying there are other options that provide similar production for half the cap so due to this fact the player's value is a little lower and the return won't be massive.

I have this same issue. That's not to say I won't start low in negotiations but I like to think when it comes down to it and its a player i want I'll always pay up nicely.

I know you have to give. You show me one of my trades in my history of this league where i did not pay equal or overpay for something i wanted? It is evident based on my limited resources in minors and picks.
