I'd prefer someone younger than MSL personally but he is a good player no doubt

Yah, he is old for sure which is unfortunate for me. Only thing in have going for me with regards to him is the fact that has in such good shape. Hoping for two more seasons out of him.

Kind of lik me and Elias. They will likely retire on our respective teams as no one wants to pay for nearly retired players even though they can still produce.

haha...fuck. good luck. Not going after Crosby here.
I understand you are in a tough spot and are trying to maximize one of the few bright spots you have and dont begrudge you for it. Only problem with that is there is 20 other people in the league thinking the same thing. Shes a buyers market now.

i think what Nick and Cam are saying above, guys expect too much of this, and it's going to happen a lot less from here on out.
To expand:
the bad teams will also suck, and the good teams will always be good. This seems to be the just of a few comments i've read this morning.
To expand - there are certainly fair deals that will help rebuilders and contenders, but deals where contenders overpay dont help them. It's counter-productive.
i'm not saying mr darkness has to move Dougie, i'm not sure i even would. What im saying is that top teams can't afford to overpay anymore and there's a reason you see a lot of the bottom teams stuck this year.
Lets use Nick as an example, he saw that his team coudln't compete and he's taken the proper approach to improve his roster. traded decent players for future help. Most of his deals made sense for both teams. Those are the deals top teams are looking to make. (this isn't directed at darkness,,,this is just the thread i posted this in)

No, i said if i was in his situation with his assets i would probably do the same thing. I offered a young dman that i think will have just as much impact as Dougie will in all situations. I added the first for the slight cap savings.
