ARI is not without some serious talent in their prospect pipeline. I believe their blueline & crease are in great shape, and with forwards coming along like henrik Sammy, duclair, domi - and vertans to shelter their arrival like Doan & Hanzal - I wouldn't be surprised to see a very quick and exciting turn around.

To keep it on topic though: it is worth noting the types of players these guys play with does impact overall value of the player. Crosby had Malkin, J.Staal, Fluery, Letang etc. Gretzky in EDM had Messier, Coffey, Kurri, etc, and in LAK he had lucky luc, Nicholls, Duchene. If McDavid can play with other elite talent, it will make him more valued.

being a bottom three team DOES mean a player Malkin-"like" could be available. That Sean Day looks pretty unreal and there's that kid from Europe can't think of his name right now.

And who cares when the supporting cast comes for McDavid? Before or after...doesn't matter.

i'd say he's probably done growing. I've had my full size since i was 14 ish.

Or then there is the Matthews kid. Check out where he was born. imagine ARZ get him w/ McDavid:

I didn't think it was necessary to answer a question that has an obvious answer.. they obviously have a chance at picking top 3 again.

Guys like Malkin are very rarely available however. And LOL at Sean Day being in the conversation.

Well I personally haven't seen him outside of the WJC so not enough to have a valid opinion. He's the number one prospect for 2016 I believe but from what I've read he doesn't seem to have McDavid potential. I'm interested in seeing how he's rated compared to Eichel, who would be a #1 in most drafts IMO.

Well what I heard of Eichel is that he is only a small step behind McDavid. If Matthews gets compared to Eichel, then that is pretty impressive.

I like the idea of mcdavid in Arizona and Eichel in buffalo and hanifin in Edmonton.

Mcdavid saves Arizona.

Eichel goes to new York state, which seems like a good place for what will likely be one of the best American centre men ever.

Hanifin gives Edmonton an elite dman. Package him with the black dman next year. And finally get that franchise moving in the right direction...maybe.

I just absolutely do not want to see mcdavid or Eichel in Edmonton. That city has squandered the young years of enough top young forwards.

Gm benning said he thinks the 2016 draft is better than the 2015 draft. (except the top 2 pieces)

If the Leafs can't get McDavid I hope Arizona does. If the Leafs were to finish in the same position as me in BBKL and won the lottery that would be perfect lol.

If it's rigged the leafs will get him. It's time the league took pity on them

Yeah, this draft really doesn't seem that special outside of McDavid and Eichel, then the drop off until 7 ish being average for that group ... maybe a little above average , then nothing spectacular.
