I personally don't think "years after signing contract" should be a factor as it adds a layer of complexity that really isn't necessary, despite the want of parity to the NHL, Without a site like capgeek, it will be a lot harder to track as no other source is as complete as capgeek was.

Lowering the age of eligibility should be the priority. 25 seems a good number. After next year, we can evaluate the GP requirement.

Our waiver system is going to have to be a bit of a made-up system since the NHL system is a bit more complex. I think having a flat age and GP requirement is the easiest way to do it.

I do want to institute the 30-day or (10 GP) rule for recalled players. I know some had asked me during the season about if you had to put a guy on waivers every time you send them down...I was partially right about that.

people that keep advocating for the same rules the NHL uses should remember we are not in charge of some decisions. NHL GMs can make decisions dictated by their rules, we can't. We are not the ones deciding when a player gets signed, how much time he spends in the AHL and so on... hence using the same NHL rules would actually not make us like the NHL at all.
NHL GMs are in most cases the ones (albeit indirectly) determining when a player becomes eligible for waivers, whereas we as BBKL GM only have to accept players' status.. so keeping our rules a bit looser than the NHL ones would only make sense.
