Sensfanjosh wroteCOLONpersonally like Lee's idea where we have a 2nd or even a 3rd round and teams can simply bow out once they've had enough and allow the remaining teams to make picks..
the thing is, I'm not positive most teams done with their picks would let others know about it. The main reason why the Waiver draft was cut down from 3 rounds to 1 was because you would see it lag a lot after the first round, becoming a lengthy process to finish it out. ANd the reason it would lag was GMs not making their picks, and havign to wait for their timeframes to expire.
Like they didn't care to make their picks, they might very well not care about officially pointing out they are done with their draft, bringing us back to the same problem we came from. We need it to be a pretty quick draft to place it as late as we've been doing.
Anyway, we will see which route the other CC members will like to go.

Fair enough, that makes sense then in terms of a reason to cut the length

What about using waiver priority for 1 week following the waiver draft for free agent claims?

IE, you claim someone, that player has 24 hours for someone higher in priority to claim them.

Don't like this. It lets shittier teams poach players GM's have put the time in to find. Promotes laziness.
Down for the bottom 14 to have a second protected pick and then open it to free hunting season.

Im okay with having a 2nd round, but i think it should be an entire 2nd round before free hunting season. I think all teams should have equal picks. To me not having a completed draft is bush league. Would they ever do this in the NHL?

Well the entire concept of the waiver draft is something that exists separately from the NHL.
I could see a full 2nd round being overkill, with a lot of forfeited picks or people saying they don't care towards the end.

i remember we use to do 2 rounds, most people lost interest after the 1st.
our system now is pretty good. Why mess with it?

It would only be for one week. If you really, really like someone, hold off for a week to claim them.
It would help the lower ranked teams and maybe slow down the crunch to log in and grab a player at 12:00 PM.

I don't think we have ever used 2 rounds.
At least not while I've been here (only missed the 1st season, and maybe even took part in the first Waiver draft):
there were 3 rounds, and CC/admins majority wanted to cut it down straight to 1 round.

Yea I don't trust myself with waiver draft picks. Always so many options and its so hard to get a good read on a lot of the guys in comparison to one another. Last year I was somehting like.
4th Overall - Hjalmarsson BUST
26thish Overall - Everberg
Free Agency - Kenins, Hodgman, Haggerty
Got my real hits in Kenins and Haggerty in FA
