No I mean adding those games to round 1 or to the end of the last week of the regular season.

week 17-18 are being merged. We have 5 weeks for playoffs with a 2 week final like in past years.

ahh sorry, forgot about the needed merge because of the ASG break.

So that means having our trade dealine on February 29th like the NHL (ours would be a couple of hrs later) would be before our last RS week roster lock.

So, pointless then.

Why do we even have a trade deadline? 1 week before the playoffs start, and then non-playoff teams can trade anyways...

Last year non playoff teams couldn't trade.

Since I don't remember if this question was ever answered in the past:
why having the trade deadline later than you would like make it pointless?

because if the deadline is on su day and the last roster lock is Monday and if non playoff teams can't trade anyways ... what's the point of having one?
