[2016-17] Roster Submission Thread

Shoalzie wroteCOLONInstructions:
Post a link to your "Preseason" sheet.
Submissions are due on Monday, October 10 at 11:59 p.m.
Rules:
1. Roster can't have more than 90 players and 50 contracts.
2. Roster on sheet must match current roster on Fantrax.
3. Lineup must be cap compliant (at or under the cap of $73 million and at or above the floor of $54 million).
4. Any player on your sheet with a red "!!" in column H will be exposed to waivers on Tuesday, October 11 at noon.
I believe rosters need to be cap compliant only in the week 1 sheet, the one corresponding to the roster used for the first week matchup, not necessarily in the pre-season submission?
at least that's what we did in previous seasons I think

I'll move these comments to another thread but why wouldn't we want the lineups to be cap compliant? We're days away from the season starting.

We've always required cap compliance for the submission

That's what I figured. What's the point of submitting an illegal roster?

Thanks to some help from (TOR) Mike...I think I've got the LTIR/relief issue resolved. I just need to correct all your sheets.

This is even better than I figured it would be. Great job, scott.

My only issues:
- It shows Mikael Wikstrand as having a contract - his contract with ottawa was terminated and he signed a 4 yr contract in SHL.
- It shows the following players as being waiver eligible when they are not (i believe it isnt recognizing them):
Alexander Barabanov
Grant Jozefek
Kyle Maksimovich
William Pethrus

I believe the first submission that needed to be cap compliant in the past was the one for week 1 (when the season indeed starts), but when season roster submission is this close to the start of week 1 it's not like it makes any difference anyway

I always thought you had to be cap compliant for roster submission.

The correct LTIR/relief formulas are on everyone's lineup sheet. Please let me know if there's any other functionality is not performing as you expect.
I'll continue to add player info to the database today. We probably won't be up to 100% done by Wednesday but I'll do my best.
Reminder again, all the players without birthdate/GP info and that don't have a contract are waiver exempt.

The "Preseason" sheets should be suitable to duplicate to if you want to get started on your Week 1 sheet...assuming you've already submitted your roster.
I will go over all your "Preseason" sheets after Monday. Waivers start Tuesday...I'll gather those names from your sheets.
Also, the draft picks will get updated after we get started with the season.

Can I just rename Preseason to Week 1 since they'll be identical?

Worried about future proofing given how laggy the sheet is right now. It bogs down firefox itself.

a couple of notes after I compiled my doc:
Boltanov and Mityakin should obviously be waiver exempt, but doc is saying otherwise, probably cause they're not registered in the DB yet?
for some reasons the rel2 player name doesn't show up, the salary gets correctly taken away though.
btw Scott, since we only post links on the forum, once the deadline expires I think you should lock the rosters submitted (the preseason sheet)

I thought I pasted the right formulas in everyone's sheet but I'll check yours out.
And yes, I agree...I'll lock the "Preseason" sheet and duplicate it to make a Week 1 if the team hasn't done so yet.

What I was working on last night was figuring out all the players Fantrax has added to their list since I started this summer so yes, there's still some names that don't appear on my database and they'll appear as if they have to clear waivers. I want to add those names...and then I have to add their info.
Any player that currently isn't in my database...they'll appear as if they have to clear waivers. That will be corrected. Don't be alarmed, I won't put those guy(s) on waivers.
I also cleared out the slide status for players so if those disappeared on your sheets...that's why. I will re-enter those tonight. Just get your sheets in and I'll get you guys checked out as quick as I can.
My big thing for tomorrow morning is gathering the list of guys that have to clear waivers for noon on Tuesday. I have to trust your lineups are legal until I check them all out. I should be able to by opening night.

I will add the contract info for today's signing later tonight.
I've got Gabriel Bourque so that contract changes some of my roster plans. I'll post my roster submission later tonight...looks like the dust is finally settling on NHL rosters.
Thank you for everyone's cooperation throughout this process of the new sheets.
