I find it interesting that he torched a team coached by a guy who was in the Swiss league last year and his top assistant was Matthews' coach...and they still couldn't come up with a way to slow him down. I guess the Sens got the last laugh though.

I don't think the Leafs will be a clone of Edmonton...collect young talent but circle the drain. Having success in the AHL is a good thing. Most of the young Oilers went right to the NHL and didn't get time in the AHL to develop any winning habits.

You do need some positive veteran presences on your roster to insulate the young bucks. You can't really win if you think you can roll out an under-23 team and try to beat teams with winning pedigrees. Talent is one thing but you need guys who win.
