If Rinne has his extension I may have done it.

If Ward was signed at that time, I may have done it.

Everyone and their blind dog knew Rinne was getting his extension. That's just a poor excuse.

https://quinnipiacbobcats.com/news/2018 ... wcase.aspx - He's probably 4th best on that list - and let's remember that this is for the juniors. Plenty of goalie prospects not even on that list that would be well ahead of him.

As far as Boedker goes, he would have been 2nd on your team in scoring last year. That's not saying much. My team sucks.

Cam Ward is not a better option than Forsberg. Last year, Forsberg was in his first pro season and put up 2.97 and .908 while being thrust into a starter role. This year, Cam Ward is 3.81 and .891 .It was a bad decision by management that they are stuck with, for now. Both are bad options. Forsberg isn't even the first call-up in Chicago anymore.
My answers in bold.

My responses:

Yes, teams generally invite sub par prospects to try out for their WJC teams...?

I'm not saying he's Sidney Crosby but he far from sucks.

He spent most of the year in Chicago because they didn't want to waive him. He was waived and not claimed because teams need a spot for him and no one had one available. He's gone to the AHL and put up 1.75 and .933, which is miles ahead of their other options:

1. Anton Forsberg 4 1.75 .933 |
2. Collin Delia 11 2.61 .927 |
3. Kevin Lankinen 3 2.98 .852 |

It's not hindsight if it was pretty clearly going to happen.

Pretty darn close between him and Delia. I imagine both will yo-yo up and down this year. There's no market for fringe back-ups anyways, so his fantasy contributions will remain rather meaningless.

That is not close at all. It's .84 gaa and .006 sv, which is huge at that stage. I'd expect him to go back on waivers when injuries hit. They will probably choose Delia due to his exemption status.

GAA is a useless stat, just like +/-. It's more a reflection of the team's performance in front of him. Given the save% are pretty darn close, I imagine once Forsberg has played more than 4 games his numbers will start to look more or less like Delia's. Either way, it's not like he is a world beater. He should have just been a toss in, but you treated him as a valuable asset - which he is not. C'est la vie.

You didn't get what you wanted, I didn't get what I wanted. We both lost out. Difference being, I'm not trying to win - whereas you are. And I told you your team was good enough to win, and with the Nashville tandem you would have been guaranteed to be one of the top dogs.

You aren't guaranteed anything yet.

Nah - just re-hatching old wounds. It was a slow Monday morning. Still love you Lee.

I give ya credit, Lee...you're basically punting the goalie categories and you're a division leader and 6th in the league.

I'd offer you Brian Elliott if he was healthy...I'm getting to the point of just wanting to start Hutton going forward but both goalies have similar numbers this year.
