It's not really taking a ton away from a lot of guys who don't make the Canadian team as 18 year olds. A lot of the guys who get cut from Canada would be stars for other teams. And it's just the personal preference of whoever's building the team.

If canada loses this against Russia (currently down 3-0) then all 5 teams in their division will be 1-1
Probably the strongest division top to bottom I've ever seen in wjc. No absolutely free wins.

Germany and czech both have a couple game breaker players.

Also, Laf just got injured, and with an all ready meh Canadian team that may spell the end of Canada going after gold.

The Czechs upsetting Russia certainly threw things for a loop. Clearly the weakest training the group imo. That said, Sweden has it ileasy with only really Finland to worry about in their group as usual.

Who you guys think have been standouts from this tournament? From different teams you saw?

Also, Alexis lafreniere looks like the difference between Canada being good and being whatever it is they were against Russia...I don't think I've ever seen Canada be dominated in hockey so clearly as in that game. I had Laf and Byfield a lot closer before the tournament, but there is a clear difference between them (right now).
