If the junior leagues all fold for the year, maybe the AHL tries to do a bubble year? And the NHL teams could assign their junior players there for some playing time?

Just have multiple hub cities where each division plays in and go from there. At worst, you have teams travel every month for a new small tournament style even and have them quarantine or test until play resumes and then you get back to playing. Could work!

I think the one thing baseball had in it's favor is playing games in one city for multiple days but it's not a bubble. Football will be interesting to follow since they play just one game per week. I would've thought they'd have a way to pull aside any players with positive tests and not have stop play all together if they were testing everyone.

I know college hockey typically does it...teams will play a 2-game series on Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday in the same arena. I think the AHL does that still where they'll play back-to-back games in the same city, not necessarily on the weekend.

Along the lines of what Mark is saying...if you play a shorter season and spread out the games and play them in chunks or have multiple matchups in a single arena for a short span...short-term mini-bubble scenarios. Could it be possible to keep 6 teams in a single city for 10-12 days and play round-robin style and get 5 games in (each plays each other). Mix in some 3-4 days off between bubbles and shuffle up the teams and rotate the venues.

Don't keep the guys in one place for too long and mix in time-off where players could be closer to home...but it'll be on them to be responsible avoid any spread. Test like crazy when you reconvene in the new cities.

CapFriendly has a countdown clock to the draft...cool that time has flown a bit because it always felt like free agency and the draft were months away. Only 25 days to the draft...free agency kicks off that weekend.

I like watching the playoffs and all but our league is in suspended animation until the draft and free agency pops off and we can really start wheeling and dealing.

Da_Hawks wroteCOLONDrew Commesso goes 2nd round
Calle Clang goes 3rd round.

Of all my picks, maybe Luke Tuch drops a bit.

The rest should be about the same.

Hot Take: Alex Pashin goes 2nd round - probably to Detroit (50 or 55) or Tampa (60).
Commesso goes 46 - 2nd goalie off the board as I assumed he would be.
Tuch goes 47

Pretty good so far.

I don`t think my Pashin hot take is going to pan out though....

If you drafted him with backup upside then you did fine. If you drafted him as a potential starter you did as bad as the real Hawks did ;)

NHL is going towards 1A and 1B on most teams - if he can get me Halak style backup stats, then that`s a quality pick for me!

BBKL -> NHL
26th. Kaiden Guhle -> 16th to Montreal
85th. Tyler Tullio -> 126th to Edmonton
86th. Veeti Miettinen -> 168th to Toronto

Well my undersized guys dropped, guess I shouldn't be too surprised, but happy about those landing spots

All 5 drafted and two 2nd rounders when I had no picks until the 3rd. No complaints from me.

BBKL --> NHL
(1st, 9th) Jamie Drysdale (1st, 6th) +3
(2nd, 38th) Justin Barron (1st, 25th) +13
(4th, 115th) Connor McClennon (6th, 178th) -63
(5th, 139th) Zach Uens (4th, 105th) +34
(5th, 153rd) Valterri Puustinen (drafted in 2019)
(6th, 158th) Artyom Galimov (5th, 129th) +29
(6th, 169th) Landon Slaggert (3rd, 79th) +90
(6th, 181st) Adam Wilsby (4th, 101st) +80
(7th, 195th) Lassi Lehtinen (undrafted)
(7th, 200th) Declan Carlile (undrafted)

Not surprised mcclennon fell due to size. He could be an offensive guy who absolutely pops next year.
Surprised carlile wasn't selected.
Didn't expect lehtinen to get drafted.

Happy with the rest of the draft...did quite well in the bbkl 6th round. went in with 1 1st, and now have 2. Had some decent risers.

BBKL -> NHL
Mavrik Bourque - (1st) 21 -> 30 (-9) (1st)
Justin Sourdif - (2nd) 52 -> 87 (-35) (3rd)
Roni Hirvonen - (3rd) 66 -> 59 (+7) (2nd)
Alexander Nikishin - (4th) 114 -> 69 (+45) (3rd)
Gage Goncalves - (6th) 164 -> 62 (+102) (2nd)
Alex Laferriere - (6th) 177 -> 83 (+94) (3rd)

John Ludvig - (3rd) 83 - 2019 #69 (Signed)
Connor Corcoran - (5th) 145 - 2018 #154 (Signed)
Matthew Stienburg - (6th) 176 - 2019 #63
Lukas Rousek - (7th) 207 - 2019 #160

All six of my 2020 picks were taken in the first three rounds, so gotta be happy with that.

Most excited about pickups of a couple of 2019 picks in Ludvig and Rousek though, think they'll be making an impact sooner than later.
