Re: GDT - Playoff Round 1 (Road to the BBKL Cup)
The champs have a good overall lead but some of the categories are close enough to make today interesting.
Impressive showing from the revamped Preds...tough draw for the Panthers in the first round as expected.
The Caps look like they'll prevail...not a strong offensive output from the Pens to support their goaltending.
As much as I like this Devils team...even with a healthy lineup, they would've been hard-pressed to beat the Stars this week.
Kings have a healthy lead but individual categories aren't a rout like the other blowout matchups.
Oilers-Flames...good matchup as I expected but that Vanecek over Lehner decision could end up being a big reason why the Oilers fall short.
The Ducks are in control...not much the Leafs could've done with this week.
Canucks-Avalanche...best matchup of the week, a few skater categories are on the line today.

I need a minor miracle today to pull off the comeback.

Since you have more centers going today, I think you can win FOW.

Even without Zacha, I think you can get more with Couturier and Cizikas compared to Horvat coming off a long layoff.
Very curious to see how the Canucks look tonight in their return...Fraser with Boeser and Horvat.

If all he does is win face-offs, he still loses the match. It would be a 7-7 tie, and Fraser has the tiebreaker (higher seed). He needs to take another category.Shoalzie wroteCOLONEven without Zacha, I think you can get more with Couturier and Cizikas compared to Horvat coming off a long layoff.

Of course. If he loses faceoffs, that makes it a taller hill to climb. Winning a tied category doesn't flip one from the other side but you need all the wins you can get.
But as I type this...they just tied up in ST points, a category Fraser carried. This is easily best matchup to follow today.
Re: GDT - Playoff Round 1 (Road to the BBKL Cup)
Even if I somehow manage to survive, I'm right back in the same predicament next week. Werenski and Tanev I at least know are out. Malkin, Zacha, Clutterbuck, DeHann statuses all up in the air. The Flyers intent on playing musical chairs with their lineup. No clue who to dress

All 4 matches still close. No first day blowouts, which is nice.

Buffalo-Dallas is close overall but the individual categories, there's only a few that could flip either way. A lot of lopsided categories...Will needs to untie GWG and flip any of PIM, SOG and ST points.
Nashville-Washington is a offensive slugfest. Mik needs a big weekend flip the major scoring categories but it's not impossible.
Kings-Flames is a fairly tight battle even with Steve 9-4. There's enough categories that could flip but Josh needs a strong periph weekend and maybe steal away the goals category.
I think the Ducks have the least worry about this weekend...been a rough start for Fraser. Matthew has a healthy lead in most categories. Now would be the time for the Canucks to flip the switch but I don't see enough runway for him to steal this away.
