Schenn will be the flavour for the next 10 years. he's big, fast and has an amazing hockey iq.

He's not overly big or fast.... he has amazing hockey IQ and soft hands.

To suggest Kadri is better simply because he spent more time in the NHL this year is overlooking the fact that the Kings have a deep NHL roster while the Leafs are icing a team of AHL'ers on most nights.

With that said I'm only projecting a 2nd line center gig for Schenn. If he surprises maybe a Mike Richards like career. I don't see him being a world beating superstar. I just have a very poor opinion of Kadri.

Same draft year, very comparable across the board... but when BOTH played WJC Kadri was a go to offensive player whereas Schenn was basically a no show, now he made up for that this year, but on the 2011 team, Kadri would have the THE go too offensive force.

Schenn is full of awesome hockey plays, he's tough to face and very tough to beat. Kadri will be a love hate relationship, he'll win and lose ya games, but when hot he'll be able to win lots, and in a way that's rather awesome. Both are pretty tough kids, Brayden pays the price, and Kadri goes kamikaze, both lack true centre-man size, not that it'll stop either from playing that role should their teams develop them in that role.

Any reason in particular, or do you just dislike him? To date he hasn't given any reason not to think he will be a top notch NHL player, and this is coming from someone who was not impressed with his tools pre draft.

I'm just not impressed by a few nice passes and dangles. There's a lot of players with that skill set and they are either career AHL'ers or playing in Russia.

Yes, but that has more to do with small stature, poor work ethic or attitude than their top end skills...I could just as easily dislike Schenn because there are a ton of "all around players" who failed to crack the top 6 of an NHL squad, but clearly there were more to the failures of prospects past than just that, and conversely there is more to making an NHL'er than offensive skills.

Let me put it this way. I've watched thousands and thousands of hours of hockey over the last 20 years and it is my conclusion that Nazem Kadri will never be an above average NHL player. If you want to disagree that is perfectly fine with me. I'm not here to change minds, especially not on a message board dominated by Leafs fans. There is no way for me to quantify an observation. You just watch and know. (and of course I could be wrong.)

I was the only one on HF boards 2 months ago saying Kadri didn't belong in the NHL. Everyone was still drooling over his "sick" passing. I said several times he would be sent back down within 20 games. I caught a lot of shit for that. I am quite used to Leafs fans and their adverse reactions when discussing "prospects" that belong to the team. What I saw in game 1 from Kadri took most leafs fans 15 games to recognize. He isn't ready for the big show. And it's my opinion they he will never be "ready" for the top 6 of a contending NHL club. And that's all I have to say on this subject. Opinions are opinions.

First off, hfboards is a terrible, terrible resource to draw credible opinions or comparisons from, secondly there were a ton of fans who thought Kadri should have been in the AHL, the only reason he was up at all was because we needed an offensive spark, Burke said as much in his interview. He showed flashes in his stint with the big club, but struggled with defensive consistency and size, as was expected, you aren't a revolutionary for predicting those issues. Nor does the fact that you aren't a Leafs fan make your opinion any more credible or objective, in fact I'd argue your apparent hate for the franchise makes your opinion as, if not more subjective than the rest of us, we obviously disagree.

Well that's a pretty safe assumption as long as Kopitar is with the Kings for a long time. But if Dupuis can play on the first line, I think Schenn can too
