Kezia wroteCOLONSince this is my first waiver draft in the league and well.. I own the first round... couple of questions...
1) Players over 20 can't be selected in the entry draft?
and
3) Can we get the exact birthdate range for North American prospects and Euro prospects for the entry/waiver drafts? I know Euro's can be drafted older than North American.
and
4) According to the CBA, I took over a bottom 3 team, which means I receive 2 extra picks. One should be 4th overall and the other should be 31st overall. Correct? Trying to plan accordingly..Also need to know other teams that receive comp. picks.
i was gonna argue why we are waiting so long for the waiver draft, but nevermind, some valid points there which i cant disagree with, thx for getting them sorted out ccfacey wroteCOLONThere were a couple of issues taken into account, and although keeping interest peeked currently would be nice, there is more information and more guys to pick from later in the summer. This gives us a nice long drop period, lots of time for retirements, random ufa signings and early word on camp invites. Also considered was the deadest of dead times, right before training camps. So this date gives some more names, sparks some interest but still requires some work/ideas/scouting by gm's.
i would like to point out though, that we agreed if the roster sizes were going to be moved up, we would be required to drop an increased amount of players, last year we had to drop 3 prior to the waiver draft, would it not make sense to have to drop 4or 5 this year?? it was well discussed that we wanted gms to have to make tough decisions and drop some relatively decent players just to shuffle up the cards a bitThe Devil wroteCOLONYa, everyone must drop 1 at least player..hong57 wroteCOLONany compulsory drop this year? thanks
im almost positive it was 3, i remembering dropping at least two of which were david hale and rod pelleyThe Devil wroteCOLONWe only had to drop 1 last year
